The USCS Data Office is responsible for advancing data governance and data risk management across USCS. The team partners across Business, Technology, Risk, and Enterprise Data Management to strengthen the control environment, improve data quality, and support effective management of data as a strategic asset.

The Senior Analyst, Data Risk Management will support execution of a scalable, preventative, and insight-driven approach to data risk management across USCS. Working closely with partners across Business, Technology, Risk, and other Data Offices, this role will help identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate data risks while contributing to control implementation, issue remediation, and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen the overall data control environment. 

  • Execute data risk management activities that support effective governance of business processes, systems, and data assets across USCS.
  • Partner with Business, Technology, Risk, and Data Office teams to identify, assess, and mitigate data risks.
  • Analyze data, controls, and processes to identify risk trends, control gaps, and remediation opportunities.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of data controls that improve data quality, stewardship, lineage, and policy adherence.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, issue management activities, and remediation efforts across critical business domains.
  • Develop reporting and insights that support effective monitoring of data risk, control performance, and governance objectives.
  • Proven ability to perform root cause analysis on complex business, data, and operational issues to identify underlying drivers of data, process, operational, or control issues.
  • Support identification and documentation of critical data elements, data flows, and key data dependencies.
  • Maintain documentation and evidence that supports effective risk management, governance, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of data governance and data risk management practices across USCS. 
  • 1–3 years of experience in analytics, risk management, controls, technology, operations, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and actionable insights from data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment. 

 

Preferred: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in financial services or another highly-regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with data management concepts including data quality, lineage, metadata, stewardship, and governance.
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk, operational risk, issue management, or control frameworks.
  • Experience with reporting, dashboarding, or data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, data architecture, or modern data ecosystems.
