Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist II, you will performs all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures at a technical level not requiring supervision to technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for specific radiographic procedures, angiography or cardiac cath procedures, CT or MRI procedures, and or mammography procedures.

 

Every day you will you will be expected to Demonstrate proficiency and competence in all aspects of diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopy, surgery exams, and other applicable modality. Demonstrate competence in filming, processing, quality control. Able to teach students and new technologists. Demonstrate appropriate administering and monitor-ing of radiopaque material per guidelines. Identifies and initiates accurate assessment of life-threatening conditions. Assists in Imaging Services as needed, demonstrating competence in all areas or modalities assigned. Demonstrates technical knowledge of all imaging equipment in diagnostic radiology, surgery, and other assigned modalities. Places orders in HIS system, making all additions, corrections and cancellations as necessary.

  • be able to demonstrate competence in all diagnostic, fluoroscopic and surgical radiography procedures.
  • have working knowledge of all basic and special diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • know departmental protocols and procedures.
  • have the ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians and the patient population.
  • have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • be self- motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
  • have the ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment.
  • have the ability to assist in the training and teaching of students and new staff members.
  • be able to fill in for the department Supervisor as needed.

 

Job Requirements

Required

  • Diagnostic technologist with 2 years of work experience in diagnostic radiology and competence in one additional modalities (CT MRI Angio Cardiac Cath Ultrasound or Mammography)
  • Or: Diagnostic technologist with 5 years of work experience in diagnostic radiology.
  • Must be able to demonstrate competence in all diagnostic fluoroscopic and surgical radiography procedures.
  • Registered ARRT
  • CRT Certification
  • Current CPR-AHA Certification
