As an HR Operations Intern, you will play an important role in supporting our People & Culture team for Germany. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR operations in Germany while contributing to process improvements, documentation, and internal communications. You’ll be helping us ensure smooth operations and an excellent employee experience across our teams.

As an HR Operations Intern, you will play an important role in supporting our People & Culture team for Germany. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR operations in Germany while contributing to process improvements, documentation, and internal communications. You’ll be helping us ensure smooth operations and an excellent employee experience across our teams.
How you pedal us forward:
- Supporting sickness management initiatives by gathering data on best practices, helping create trainings and guidelines, and aligning with local frameworks;
- Assisting in payroll preparation processes, contributing to a smooth and 100% correct payroll
- Assisting in reviewing and optimising People & Culture processes in Germany, ensuring alignment with global standards and identifying efficiency opportunities;
- Assisting with Collective Labor Agreement (CLA) updates, including internal communication around changes;
- Creating clear and user-friendly manuals, infosheets, and FAQs, to support employees (e.g., payslip explanations or user guides);
- Developing templates and documentation to support consistency across HR operations;
- Researching and sharing HR best practices to continuously improve our ways of working;
- Reviewing and updating documents to ensure inclusive and accessible language across all People & Culture materials.
- Keeping our People & Culture intranet up to date by mapping, cleaning, and improving content;
The gear you need:
- Currently studying or having a Bachelor's degree in a Human Resources-related field;
- Available to work full-time (40 hours);
- Ready to start in the beginning of July for 3-6 months;
- You are detail-oriented and organised;
- You have an inclusive mindset;
- Fluent in English and German;
- Living in the Amsterdam area or willing to commute (please note that Swapfiets does not offer travel compensation for interns);
- Eager to get your hands dirty; after all, our core business is swapping bikes!

- Mitwirkung bei der Entgeltabrechnung (Payroll-Vorbereitung), um eine reibungslose und zu 100 % korrekte Abrechnung zu gewährleisten;
- Unterstützung bei der Überprüfung und Optimierung von People & Culture-Prozessen in Deutschland, um die Abstimmung mit globalen Standards sicherzustellen und Effizienzpotenziale zu identifizieren;
- Unterstützung bei Aktualisierungen des Tarifvertrags (Collective Labor Agreement – CLA), einschließlich der internen Kommunikation über Änderungen;
- Erstellung von klaren und benutzerfreundlichen Handbüchern, Infoblättern und FAQs zur Unterstützung der Mitarbeitenden (z. B. Erklärungen zu Gehaltsabrechnungen oder Benutzerhandbücher);
- Entwicklung von Vorlagen und Dokumentationen zur Gewährleistung der Konsistenz im gesamten HR-Betrieb;
- Recherche und Austausch von HR Best Practices, um unsere Arbeitsweisen kontinuierlich zu verbessern;
- Überprüfung und Aktualisierung von Dokumenten, um eine inklusive und barrierefreie Sprache in allen People & Culture-Materialien sicherzustellen;
- Mithilfe bei der Pflege unseres People & Culture-Intranets durch Strukturierung, Bereinigung und Verbesserung von Inhalten.
Das bringst du mit:
- Aktuelles Studium oder ein Bachelor-Abschluss in einem Bereich mit HR-Bezug;
- Verfügbarkeit in Vollzeit (40 Stunden);
- Bereit für den Start Anfang Juli für einen Zeitraum von 3–6 Monaten;
- Du bist detailorientiert und gut organisiert;

- Fließende Englischkenntnisse.
