Compensation Training Specialist

Position Summary

The Compensation Training Specialist will design, administer, and conduct training for Leaders, HR partners and managers on compensation philosophy, compliance, practices, and systems. In collaboration with the Talent Development function, this role will utilize our learning systems, resources, and tools to leverage various training methods and track and report on training progress. This role will act as a consultant to the business to diagnose compensation training needs and implement learning solutions that align to our compensation strategy.

 

Major Responsibilities

Design and administer training on compensation philosophy, practices and systems for all levels of the organization

  • Design training plans and materials to provide detailed and engaging compensation training for HR partners and hiring managers

  • Ensure that training materials are up to date and aligned with current practice and regulations

  • Create training materials for annual processes such as merit and bonus entry

 

Conduct training sessions for managers, leaders and HR partners

  • Conduct in-person or virtual training sessions

  • Create and provide alternative methods and modes of training 

  • Establish a training calendar and recommend modules/courses for various audiences 

 

Act as a consultant to the business to diagnose training needs

  • Provide recommendations on the types and methods of training based on organizational need

  • Partner with the Talent Development function to utilize our learning systems to track and report out on training progress

  • Use a variety of training tools and delivery methods to reach various audiences

 

Develop and maintain communications

  • Create pay communications for HR and manager use

  • Partner with management to ensure alignment to communication strategy

  • Develop communications to support annual and ad hoc compensation processes


 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or must have equivalent compensation or training experience

  • CCP required or the willingness to obtain within 1-2 years of entering the role

  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred 

  • 3 years of Training experience required

  • 3 years of Compensation or HR experience strongly preferred

  • Strong training and development skills

  • Analytical skills preferred

  • Knowledge of compensation practices required

  • Tech-savvy with knowledge or ability to navigate and create content in a Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Strong ability to translate training needs into engaging training content required

  • Must have ability to create/recommend solutions that are compliant/within guidelines and support the goals/needs of the business

  • Ability to provide training consultation and/or be influential to all levels of management

  • High level of written and verbal communication skills accomplished in a clear, consistent manner required

  • Strong presentation skills, both in-person and remote

  • Requires high-level of personal integrity including keeping highly sensitive information confidential

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
