Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a VP, Accounting Shared Services. This role will report to the Corporate Controller.
The Accounting Shared Services Leader is a senior finance executive responsible for centralizing and standardizing transactional accounting operations across the enterprise, while ensuring full compliance with the complex regulatory environment governing U.S. government contracts. This role sits at the intersection of operational finance leadership and government contract regulatory compliance, serving as a critical enabler of mission delivery and contract performance.
The leader oversees a centralized Shared Services Center (SSC) that supports multiple indirect functions and direct sectors ensuring accuracy, auditability, and efficiency across all shared services functions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy, governance, and day-to-day operations of the Accounting Shared Services Center (SSC), ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery and achievement of all Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and operational metrics to drive service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting organization through talent acquisition, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement.
- Drive standardization, simplification, and automation of accounting processes by leveraging Lean principles, AI, and digital technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), internal controls, government contract regulations, and company policies across all shared service operations.
- Serve as the executive owner for internal and external audits, including RSM, DCAA, DCMA, and other regulatory agencies to ensure audit readiness and successful outcomes.
- Partner with the Corporate Controller and business finance leaders to align shared services operations with enterprise financial objectives, operational priorities, and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor operational and financial performance, proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions to achieve business and compliance objectives.
- Lead process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities, redesigning workflows, documenting standardized procedures, and ensuring sustainable implementation across the organization.
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement through governance, process ownership, training, change management, and adoption of industry best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, and business stakeholders to optimize end-to-end accounting processes and enhance the customer experience.
- Ensure operational resilience through effective workforce planning, resource allocation, knowledge management, and business continuity planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Business Administration
- 15+ Years of experience in Finance and Accounting
- Expert with Microsoft Office Suite,
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Deltek T&E and Cognos
- Strong project management and governance skills
- US Citizenship
