Certification Test Engineer II - HYBRID
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Certification Engineer II to join the Data Center Power & Control Division in Canonsburg, PA on a hybrid basis. As the Certification Engineer, this role is responsible for achieving and maintaining global product certification and regulatory compliance for Starline products. The position requires technical knowledge of electrical products, experience with certification processes, and effective project execution.

What Will You Do?
Maintain valid certification statuses, including but not limited to UL/ETL listings, NOM, RETIE, CCC, CE, UKCA, and CB Scheme certifications.
Plan, develop, and execute qualification, certification, reliability, thermal, environmental, and performance testing programs.
Support root-cause investigations and validation testing related to product changes and field issues.
Maintain test equipment, test procedures, and laboratory capabilities that support certification and reliability programs.
Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Design Engineers throughout product development to establish a path to regulatory compliance aligned with market requirements.
Partner with Quality Assurance and Product Managers to define product safety and performance expectations beyond minimum standards of requirements where appropriate.
Coordinate certification activities, including test sample procurement, laboratory scheduling, third-party witnessing, and documentation collection.
Support external testing and evaluation activities from RFQ through final reporting.
Ensure product designs are accurately documented in certification files and provide guidance regarding the certification impact of design changes.
Manage internal communications related to product certifications.
Travel up to 15%, primarily within the United States, to support certification activities at external test laboratories as needed.
Perform additional duties as needed to support organizational objectives.
Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent related experience.
Experience
Required: Demonstrated professional experience applying engineering principles, testing methods, or compliance-related processes in a technical environment.
Preferred: Experience working with product certification programs, regulatory compliance activities, or related testing functions.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Required: Knowledge of low-voltage power distribution equipment or related electrical systems.
Required: Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and project coordination skills.
Preferred: Experience working with Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs) and other certification bodies.

Follows established safety requirements when working in laboratory or manufacturing environments, including the use of required personal protective equipment.
Regularly communicates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds when necessary to support testing activities.
