Role and Team
- Reporting to the Reconditioning Manager or other designated leader, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of vehicle detail operations. As a primary people leader, you lead the detail shop staff—including Detailer I and Detailer II—ensuring weekly production goals are met, and high-quality standards are maintained to meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- People Leadership & Accountability: Lead, manage, and hold the detail shop staff accountable for daily performance, quality, and productivity.
- Performance Management: Oversee staffing, training, and labor hour management while providing regular performance feedback and engagement to team members.
- Operational Optimization: Lead detail shop operations to optimize productivity and profitability, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Monitor and maintain shop equipment and the facility in good working order; order and maintain necessary supplies.
- Safety Leadership: Implement and ensure all safety policies are followed, completing regular safety audits and inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
- Inventory & Systems Management: Run reports to monitor inventory levels and post vehicle detail completions accurately to customer accounts.
- Cross-Departmental Coordination: Communicate with other departments to prepare for production flow and coordinate upcoming deadlines.
- Compliance Oversight: Monitor and ensure compliance with customer contracts regarding vehicle detail completion and quality.
- Culture & Communication: Cascade company and customer directives while promoting positive employee relations and morale.
- Other Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by the designated manager.

Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience and 2 years of automotive experience.
- Prior Leadership: Prior leadership experience is highly preferred, with a proven ability to manage direct reports and hold them accountable.
- Auction Knowledge: Auction and vehicle detailing experience is preferred.
- Education: High School diploma or GED required.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with computer systems, applications, and managing metrics against targets.
- Licensing: Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements.
