Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You

Picture yourself brightening someone’s day. When you join our Hotels team, that’s exactly what you’ll do every time you come to work! As a Halal Manager, you’re not just ensuring compliance with local Malaysian regulations across culinary and service operations – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the hotel's Halal Assurance System (HAS).
  • Ensure compliance with Halal certification requirements, local regulations, and company policies.
  • Establish and monitor procedures to segregate Halal and non-Halal food, beverages, equipment, utensils, storage areas, and service operations.
  • Ensure that alcoholic beverages are stored, handled, and served in accordance with hotel policies while preventing contamination of Halal-certified food and beverage operations.
  • Oversee Halal compliance in kitchens, restaurants, room service, banquet operations, and food storage areas designated for Halal service.
  • Coordinate Halal certification applications, renewals, surveillance audits, and inspections.
  • Conduct regular internal Halal audits and hygiene inspections.
  • Review and approve Halal-certified suppliers, ingredients, and food products.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Kitchen, Food & Beverage, Stewarding, Housekeeping, and Receiving departments to maintain Halal compliance.
  • Investigate Halal non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain all Halal documentation, records, and traceability requirements.
  • Deliver Halal awareness and compliance training for hotel employees.
  • Respond to guest inquiries regarding Halal food preparation and certification.
  • Stay updated on changes to Halal standards and certification requirements.

At Hilton, our core values define what it takes to succeed here and guide the qualities we look for in every team member:

A passion for spreading the light and warmth of Hospitality. Acting with Integrity and always doing the right thing. Inspiring others through Leadership. A belief that Teamwork drives the best outcomes. A sense of Ownership and accountability. And a focus on the Now, bringing urgency and discipline to every moment, knowing it can make a lasting impact.

In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Food Science, Hospitality Management, Quality Management, Islamic Studies, or a related field.
  • Certification or training in Halal Assurance Systems (preferred).
  • HACCP, Food Safety, or ISO 22000 certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Halal compliance, food safety, quality assurance, or hospitality operations.
  • Strong understanding of Halal certification requirements and Halal Assurance Systems.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality management systems.
  • Experience with hotel food and beverage operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and training skills.
  • Excellent auditing and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
