We are looking for a talented School to Work - Operations to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Cummins Inc. facility in Florence, KY
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Support manufacturing and operations teams by analyzing processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall performance.
- Assist with logistics and operational planning activities to help ensure materials, resources, and production schedules are aligned with business needs.
- Use Microsoft Office tools to collect, organize, and present operational data that supports informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to solve day-to-day production and operational challenges.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by helping evaluate workflows, reduce waste, and enhance process reliability.
- Support key projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while gaining hands-on manufacturing experience.
- Monitor operational metrics and provide insights that help drive improvements in plant performance and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, adaptability, and a willingness to learn while contributing meaningful solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn manufacturing, operations, and logistics processes while applying classroom knowledge in a real-world environment.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, to analyze data, track performance, and communicate results effectively.
Build strong relationships and collaborate with engineers, operators, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to support operational goals.
Develop problem-solving skills and use data-driven thinking to identify process improvements and address operational challenges.
Maintain strong attention to detail when working with production data, schedules, inventory information, and project documentation.
Adapt quickly to a fast-paced, on-site manufacturing environment where priorities and business needs can change frequently.
