As an Executive Director, Asia Pacific Head of Philanthropy, you will lead the development and execution of our philanthropic strategy across Asia Pacific. You will work closely with internal and external partners to drive impactful initiatives, foster collaboration, and ensure our efforts are globally aligned and tailored to local needs. Your leadership will help us deliver on our commitment to expanding economic opportunity and supporting communities throughout the region.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead philanthropic strategies for Asia Pacific, ensuring alignment with business priorities and inclusive economic development goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with government, business, nonprofit, and philanthropic leaders across the region.
- Represent the firm at high-profile events, forums, and with the media as the primary relationship manager for key external regional partners.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across business lines, HR, communications, and legal to deepen partnerships and amplify impact.
- Identify and drive opportunities for regional economic development, leveraging insights and trends to maximize impact.
- Manage and coach a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and a culture of excellence.
- Ensure rigorous governance, accountability, and compliance for all philanthropic activities, including impact monitoring and reporting.
- Oversee grantmaking standards and assess risk factors to ensure effective execution and value of investments.
- Monitor and report on program outcomes, using data and insights to shape future strategy.
- Communicate the firm’s approach to expanding economic opportunity and Corporate Responsibility initiatives to diverse audiences.
- Act as a culture carrier for the broader Corporate Responsibility function in the region.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in economic development, philanthropy, or related fields (required for Singapore; in Hong Kong, due recognition given to professional qualifications from reputable training institutes or professional bodies).
- Demonstrated experience in corporate philanthropy or private sector roles.
- Proven ability to lead teams and large-scale, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Strong understanding of economic development and the unique characteristics of Asia Pacific.
- Familiarity with grantmaking standards and risk assessment.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
- Outstanding analytical, strategic planning, and project management skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
- Collaborative approach in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
- Experience representing an organization externally and serving as a thought leader.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience working across multiple pillars of community impact, including workforce development, entrepreneurship, financial health, and community development.
- Familiarity with the philanthropic and economic landscape in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia.
- Knowledge of anchor institutions and key stakeholders in Asia Pacific.
- Experience with impact finance and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ability to drive innovation in philanthropic strategy and execution.
- Multilingual proficiency relevant to the region.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
