Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant – Internal Medicine

Pay range: RVT $30–$40/hr | VA $26–$34/hr

Full-time opportunity in Dublin, California

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4/10 schedule, plus weekend availability required (2 Saturdays per month, weekend and holiday flexibility)

As a Veterinary Technician in the Internal Medicine department, you'll play a key role in diagnostics, treatment, and compassionate care for patients admitted to the service.

In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Assist with a variety of diagnostic procedures including blood work, imaging, and endoscopy
  • Provide compassionate care and monitoring for animals admitted to the internal medicine service
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and wound care treatments under veterinarian supervision
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering guidance on their animal's condition and treatment options
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure equipment is properly maintained and sterilized
  • Assist veterinarians during procedures such as biopsies and aspiration cytology
  • Stay updated on advancements in internal medicine through continuing education
  • Advocate for the well-being of patients, ensuring they receive appropriate care and treatment
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture

What You Bring

  • General understanding and experience with small animal restraint, with a focus on cats and dogs
  • High school diploma
  • Calm, professional demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable time management and problem-solving skills, working efficiently and effectively throughout the hospital
  • Ability to multi-task various duties and responsibilities in a timely and reliable manner, with appropriate follow-through and accuracy
  • Understanding of and ability to follow established hospital processes and procedures (SOPs)
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with a team
  • Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology
  • Experience in specialty veterinary medicine, with a focus on internal medicine, preferred
  • Valid and current Registered Veterinary Technician license in the state of California preferred
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
