This is a hands-on role combining solution architecture, software engineering expertise, and technical leadership.Working closely with the core product team in Dresden, business stakeholders, and distributed delivery teams across Europe and the UK, you will be responsible for designing, evolving, and modernising enterprise-scale platforms while ensuring high standards of performance, scalability, and maintainability.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and drive solution architecture for enterprise applicationsLead technical design activities and support implementation across distributed teamsContribute to the modernisation and evolution of complex legacy systemsEnsure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure and high-performingCollaborate closely with developers, architects, QA, DevOps and business stakeholdersSupport delivery throughout the full software development lifecyclePromote engineering best practice and architectural standards across teamsQualificationsWe are looking for a technology leader with 10+ years' experience in enterprise software development and solution architecture.The ideal candidate will bring a strong Java background, including Java 11/17 and Java EE / Jakarta EE, together with proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications. Strong database design and development expertise, particularly with PostgreSQL, is essential, as is hands-on experience with Eclipse RCP, SWT and JFace, and WildFly Application Server.You should have a solid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design principles and design patterns, with experience leading the modernisation of legacy systems and supporting long-term technology roadmaps.
