Position Summary
In your role as a SME Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll use your detailed knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS) to move the business forward. You'll possess a strong background in electrical engineering, electrical troubleshooting, control systems and advanced programming skills.Role and Responsibilities
Here's what you'll be responsible for:
- Designing industrial automation systems: Develop detailed schematics, specifications, and design documentation for computer networks, PLC installations, VFD systems, and UPS solutions, considering I/O requirements, process control, power‑backup needs, and overall system integration.
- Analyzing electrical systems: Assess the electrical system’s compatibility with PLC, VFD and UPS equipment, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions to ensure optimal performance, safety, and uninterrupted power delivery.
- Programming and software development: Develop custom software programs for PLCs, VFDs, and UPS monitoring/control using Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text (ST), or Sequential Function Chart (SFC), ensuring robust, efficient, and reliable code.
- Testing and validation: Perform simulations and tests to validate PLC, VFD, and UPS performance, including UPS transfer‑time, battery‑run, and overload testing, confirming that all systems meet specifications and requirements.
- Commissioning and installation support: Supervise the installation, commissioning, and start‑up of PLC, VFD and UPS systems, resolve technical issues, and verify that the integrated solution operates as intended.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance: Diagnose and resolve PLC, VFD, UPS‑related, and network issues; recommend preventative‑maintenance strategies to minimize downtime; and perform periodic maintenance to ensure long‑term performance of all systems.
- Developing technical comprehensive documentation—including operating instructions, manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical reports—to support clients, operators, and other stakeholders in understanding and using the systems effectively.
- Delivering training sessions to clients or operators, ensuring they understand the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PLC, VFD, UPS and network systems.
- Staying updated on new technologies, methodologies, and industry trends to ensure PLC, VFD, UPS and network systems achieve optimal performance and remain competitive.
- Collaborating with project managers to ensure seamless execution of PLC, VFD, UPS and network projects from concept to completion, within budget and time constraints.
- Serving as the organization’s go‑to authority on all power‑related topics, including utility interfacing, UPS architecture, energy storage, power quality, fault studies, and electrical protection schemes. Provide guidance, lead technical reviews, and mentor other engineers on power‑system design and best practices.
