Job Description:

Tell the story shaping the future of banking

AI is transforming how work gets done, how decisions are made, and how clients experience financial services. At TD, we’re not just adopting AI – we’re building it responsibly, embedding it at scale, and using it to create real impact for clients, colleagues, and communities.

We’re looking for an experienced strategic communicator to help define and deliver TD’s AI voice – someone who can turn complex innovation into clear, compelling stories that resonate. This is an opportunity to sit at the intersection of technology, business, and reputation – and help shape how one of North America’s largest banks shows up in a rapidly evolving space.

What you’ll do

You’ll lead communications for TD’s AI business, translating strategy into stories that build trust, credibility, and share of voice.

  • Shape TD’s AI narrative: Bring our AI strategy to life through clear, human-centered storytelling across internal and external channels
  • Drive media impact: Lead a proactive, always-on media program – pitching stories, responding to opportunities, and building relationships that position TD as a trusted AI leader
  • Partner with senior leaders: Provide strategic counsel and develop internal communications that elevate executive voice and thought leadership
  • Bring an outside-in lens to the Bank's AI narrative and communications, identifying emerging trends to stay relevant and ahead of the conversation
  • Create content that lands: From media pitches and LinkedIn posts to briefing notes and events, craft content that connects with diverse audiences
  • Elevate thought leadership, advancing TD's position as a trusted leader in AI by uncovering opportunities to contribute to the broader industry dialogue
  • Translate complexity into clarity: Turn technical concepts into accessible, relevant stories that resonate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Navigate issues with confidence: Provide guidance on reputational risk and support leaders through complex or fast-moving situations
  • Measure and evolve: Use insights and analytics to continuously refine messaging and maximize impact
  • Collaborate across the bank: Work closely with AI2, Layer 6, Corporate Communications, and business partners to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Extend reach through partners: Manage external agency relationships to amplify earned, owned, and paid outcomes

What you bring

  • 7–12 years of experience in corporate communications or an agency environment
  • Proven strength in media relations – both proactive storytelling and reactive issues management
  • Experience working with technology, innovation, or AI-related topics (or a strong ability to get up the curve quickly)
  • Exceptional writing skills and a strong instinct for what makes a story land
  • Ability to take complex ideas and make them simple, relevant, and engaging
  • Experience advising senior leaders and navigating sensitive or high-stakes communications
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver internal communications that engage and inform colleagues
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort operating in a fast-moving, matrixed environment
  • Curiosity, creativity, and a bias to action – you’re someone who sees opportunity and runs toward it

Who you are

You’re equal parts strategist and storyteller. You’re energized by new ideas and emerging technologies, but grounded in what matters most: clarity, credibility, and impact. You’re someone who can zoom out to shape the narrative—and zoom in to craft the perfect sentence.

Most importantly, you’re excited by the opportunity to help define how AI is understood inside and outside the bank.
