Reporting to the SVP, Market Access, this role responsible for developing market access strategies to support uniQure products across all global markets, with particular emphasis on Ex-US markets. The role requires deep understanding of reimbursement environment for both HTA and non-HTA markets, including pricing, value-based messaging and strategies, Most Favored Nation, dossier development, and International Reference Pricing etc.
 
Description of Department
 
The Market Access team leads the development and execution of pricing, reimbursement, HEOR, Trade & Distribution, patient support services, and access strategies for uniQure’s rare disease/gene therapy portfolio. The team works in close partnership with Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, Legal, and cross-regional stakeholders to shape evidence generation, value communication, and access planning across the product lifecycle.
 
Key result areas (major duties, accountabilities and responsibilities)
 
  • Lead the development and execution of global pricing, reimbursement, and access strategies for rare disease and gene therapy programs, with a primary focus on ex-US markets.
  • Partner closely with regional, medical, regulatory, and commercial teams to align access strategy with product development, launch planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive access planning and reimbursement strategy across UK, Europe, APAC, LATAM, the Middle East, and CIS markets.
  • Manage and support IRP and MFN considerations, Global Value and AMCP dossiers, and reimbursement submissions for HTA and non-HTA markets.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure clear, consistent, and locally relevant value propositions across markets.
  • Support Ex-US distribution strategies to ensure product availability to select Ex-US markets.
  • Provide strategic input to governance forums and cross-functional decision-making processes to inform short- and medium-term global access strategy.
  • Support US market access engagement as needed, including contribution to payer value positioning and strategic input on US access considerations.
  • Translate market insights into practical recommendations that support launch readiness, access optimization, and global alignment.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to advance access objectives in a highly matrixed, patient-focused environment.
 
Qualifications & Skills
 
  • Senior strategic market access leader with 8-10 years of pharma industry and/or consultancy experience, ideally within rare/orphan diseases and gene therapy.
  • Strong experience developing and executing access strategies across ex-US markets, including Europe, APAC, LATAM, the Middle East, and CIS.
  • Solid understanding of US payer engagement and reimbursement, with the ability to contribute strategically where needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence global pricing and reimbursement strategy.
  • Product launch experience in rare disease/gene therapy a significant plus.
  • Hands-on experience with IRP and associated systems, MFN, Global Value Dossiers, AMCP dossiers, and reimbursement submissions for HTA and non-HTA markets.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills in a global matrix environment.
  • Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) required - finance/economic/science background preferred.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
 
Location
 
Preferred location: US East Coast or Western Europe.
This role will be primarily remote with approximately 25% of travel required.
 
Salary Range: $205,000-$265,000
 
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, relevant years of experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from where they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
