What this job involves

The Managing Director, Occupier Services, Industrial is a senior executive accountable for revenue growth, industry leadership, and platform integration across JLL Industrial’s occupier business. The role will be client facing in addition to directing the firm’s six priority industry verticals — setting growth strategy, account priorities, and performance expectations — and partners across the U.S. Occupier organization to drive net-new client acquisition and expand strategic accounts.

Coordinating closely with Integrated Portfolio Services and Enterprise Portfolio Solutions, the Managing Director, Occupier Services, Industrial ensures a connected, scalable client experience and a high-performance culture across the occupier platform. They foster a culture rooted in ethics, teamwork, high performance, and continuous professional development, while strengthening client relationships and realizing strategic growth ambitions.

Primary Responsibilities
 

Revenue Growth & Strategic Pursuits

  • Own occupier revenue growth targets and the multi-year revenue plan for JLL Industrial; deliver year-over-year growth across verticals and regions.
  • Drive net-new client acquisition in partnership with the platform business development partners and the broader U.S. Occupier teams.
  • Lead all significant tenant rep pitches, representing JLL Industrial as the senior occupier voice in client meetings and presentations.
  • Lead or co-lead strategic pursuits, major proposals, RFP responses, coordinate with Sales Enablement Team and create executive presentations to occupier C-suite clients.
  • Develop strategies to target new occupier business in coordination with Integrated Portfolio Services and Enterprise Portfolio Solutions.

  • Champion industrial training and platform technology adoption to accelerate revenue capture across the organization.

Industry Leadership

  • Provide strategic support to JLL Industrial’s six priority industry verticals: Construction Materials & Building Products, Third-Party Logistics (3PL), Consumer Products, Retailer (Traditional), Automotive, and Advanced Manufacturing.
  • Co-Chair the Occupier Steering Committee — set the agenda, cadence, and quarterly priorities, translating the Industrial Executive Committee’s mandate into operating priorities for Industry Leads and Regional Hub Leads.
  • Approve vertical-specific growth strategies, account targets, and pursuit priorities for each of the six industries.
  • Sequence vertical rollout by revenue contribution and strategic value — anchoring committee focus on the highest-impact industries.
  • Ensure each Industry Lead’s team of specialists is sized, skilled, enabled and structured to deliver against the vertical’s revenue plan and implementation of new business roll-outs.
  • Represent JLL at all major industry conferences, serving as a senior industrial voice in the marketplace and building visibility for the platform.
  • Govern committee composition; partner with the Industrial Executive Committee on senior appointments and succession.

Cross-Platform Partnership

  • Serve as the senior occupier voice in JLL Industrial’s platform partnerships — Integrated Portfolio Services, Enterprise Portfolio Solutions, and Investor Solutions.
  • Drive integration between occupier business development and adjacent business lines, ensuring a connected client experience across mandates.

Performance Reporting & Communication

  • Establish reporting cadence for committee, industry, and hub-level performance against the revenue plan.
  • Oversee data and tracking of industrial pursuits via dashboards reporting to the Industrial Executive Committee.
  • Drive communication strategy for committee priorities, wins, and platform-wide initiatives — internal and external.

Talent Leadership

  • Sponsor talent development, succession planning, and DEI priorities across the occupier organization.
  • Champion knowledge management — pitch templates, case studies, vertical playbooks, and industrial content libraries.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture across the occupier platform.

Interested?  An ideal candidate would need to have the following qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial real estate, with deep specialization in industrial occupier services, Integrated Portfolio Services, or Enterprise Portfolio Solutions.
  • Proven track record building and leading large, matrixed teams across multiple geographies and business lines.
  • Demonstrated success driving multi-million-dollar revenue growth across verticals and regions.
  • Recognized industry presence — established relationships with senior occupier C-suite, brokers, and platform leadership.
  • B.A. or B.S. required; advanced degree (M.B.A. or relevant master’s) preferred.
  • Exceptional executive communication, governance, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Comfort operating in a service-oriented, matrixed environment with a large number of senior stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Ability to translate enterprise strategy into operating priorities for a complex organization, and to make decisive trade-offs on talent, capital, and time.
  • High level of energy, creativity, and orientation towards value-add results.

Travel

  • Approximately 30% travel required to support major industry conferences, significant tenant rep pitches, and client engagement across U.S. markets.

Estimated compensation for this position:

350,000.00 – 500,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
