Accountabilities:
- Analyze, process, and review topographic lidar, topobathymetric data, vector datasets, digital elevation models (DEMs), digital surface models (DSMs), imagery, and related geospatial products.
- Support the processing and classification of multiple lidar projects, ensuring accurate and reliable deliverables.
- Develop and apply scripts, models, and macros across GIS and remote sensing platforms to improve production efficiency.
- Assist project leads with executing projects on schedule and within established budgets.
- Manage geospatial data workflows, including production planning, file organization, storage requirements, backups, and data handling protocols.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure project outputs meet client specifications and industry standards.
- Provide technical feedback to improve standard operating procedures, production processes, and workflow documentation.
- Collaborate with production teams and technology groups to identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and quality improvements.
- Provide technical guidance to enhance automated production and QC processes.
- Support task management, problem resolution, reporting, documentation, and communication across project teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in GIS, remote sensing, lidar processing, or related geospatial fields, with experience focused on point cloud classification and elevation data production.
- Experience processing lidar data, creating and manipulating elevation models, hydrographic datasets, or other remote sensing products.
- Strong understanding of GIS and lidar concepts, including raster and vector data formats, coordinate systems, projections, and datums.
- Knowledge of lidar acquisition, processing workflows, classification methods, and deliverable creation.
- Ability to analyze point clouds and geospatial datasets derived from lidar technologies.
- Experience with TerraSolid products and MicroStation is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ESRI tools, including ArcGIS 10.x and ArcGIS Pro.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Access.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Python, GIS scripting, automation tools, or command-line applications is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools such as LASTools, LP360, Global Mapper, QGIS, GDAL, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Experience with GIS production editing, data review, national elevation programs, or industry standards such as ASPRS and USGS specifications is beneficial.
- Knowledge of topobathymetric sensors such as Riegl or Optech CZMIL is a plus.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Competitive annual salary range of approximately $69,000–$88,000, depending on skills, experience, location, and market factors.
