About the Role

Hinge Health is a company that recognizes the value of design – as a Product Designer, you’ll join a tight-knit, collaborative team of designers who care deeply about creating cohesive and intuitive product experiences. Our team is at the center of solving impactful problems for millions of members who are managing their joint and muscle health, and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

In this role, you’ll lead the design of our member communication ecosystem, ensuring members are informed and supported throughout their care journey. You’ll own the end-to-end design for proactive outreach, including notification surfaces, preference management, and the Connect tab which helps connect members with their care team anywhere and anytime through visit scheduling and messaging. As a Product Designer, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, user-centered solutions from concept to execution, including user research, interaction/UI design, and prototypes that advance our member experience while driving key business goals.

We’re looking for designers that excel in the ability to simplify complex challenges into impactful user experiences, care deeply about the quality of their work, have a strong track-record of shipping impactful experiences, come with a growth mindset, and bring a genuine desire to learn about our members.

This is a high-impact role, at an especially exciting time in Hinge Health’s journey. Our business is thriving, our member base continues to grow, and the impact of this role can directly power our company to grow.

What You'll Accomplish

  • Drive the ongoing design evolution for the Preference Center and Notifications Feed initiatives.

  • Own the UX for new nudges, and member communication recovery patterns.

  • Improve the Connect tab and its integration with the broader communication experience.

  • Collaborate on design and content strategy with Growth, Product Management (PM), Engineering, Data Science (DS), and MarTech on member-facing communication surfaces and experiments.

  • Lead the continuation of work beyond initial launches to ensure the area has a stable design owner.

Basic Qualifications

  • A polished and updated portfolio showing shipped or in-progress product work, with foundational skills in interaction design and visual design.

  • 3+ years of product design experience, including partnering with product and engineering teams

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction, Industrial, Product, Service design, Human-computer interaction, or equivalent experience

  • Experience contributing to end-to-end product design on native mobile platforms—from understanding the opportunity to supporting concept development and shipment; tablet familiarity is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, basic user research, and design documentation, with guidance from more senior designers.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience partnering with cross-functional teammates such as product managers and engineers.

  • Ability to learn new programs quickly and understand their nuances, with an emerging ability to think systematically about how different experiences connect and diverge.

  • Experience creating and documenting user flows, journeys, and/or simple service maps to support design decisions.

  • Iterative mindset: Ability to incorporate user and stakeholder feedback into designs and clearly explain design decisions.

  • Growing comfort with metrics: Experience using qualitative or quantitative signals to understand outcomes and improve designs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience participating in and helping facilitate workshops with cross-functional or cross-pillar teams to gather requirements, align on direction, or brainstorm concepts and ideas, with support from more senior partners.

  • Exposure to designing complex systems that span multiple product lines or features, with guidance and clear direction.

  • AI curiosity: Actively explores emerging tools, including generative AI, to improve workflows, spark creativity, or inform product ideas.

  • Design innovation mindset: Excited to bring fresh, thoughtful ideas to the table and draw inspiration from unexpected sources.

  • Passion for healthcare or fitness: Motivated by helping people live healthier lives through design and technology; industry experience is a plus but not required.
