Accountabilities:
- Perform installation, start-up, testing, preventive maintenance, and repair of power electronics systems at customer sites, including UPS systems, inverters, rectifiers, voltage regulators, static switches, and battery systems.
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and diagnostics using electrical schematics, technical documentation, and advanced test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and infrared cameras.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with electrical safety standards, PPE requirements, and established operating procedures.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and well-documented technical service reports following each customer visit.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by providing responsive service, technical expertise, and clear communication.
- Identify potential opportunities to support additional service offerings and contribute to business growth.
- Manage travel schedules (primarily weekly air travel within the Eastern US) and remain available for on-call service as needed.
- Track expenses accurately and maintain compliance with corporate financial and reporting procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent military/technical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in field service, maintenance, or installation of power electronic systems or UPS environments.
- Strong expertise in AC/DC power electronics, including familiarity with DC power systems and stationary battery technologies (24VDC–600VDC preferred).
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and service documentation.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-travel field environment (up to 80% travel).
- Physically capable of performing field work, including lifting equipment and working in industrial environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple service assignments simultaneously.
