Director, Plant Operations China

Purpose:

The Director, Manufacturing Operations China is responsible for the overall leadership, setup, and operation of the SCIEX Beijing Changping manufacturing site. This role leads site start-up, capacity ramp-up, and steady-state manufacturing operations, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development, while embedding the Danaher Business System (DBS) culture. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide full site leadership with accountability for EHS, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People. 

• Lead new site start-up including facility readiness, equipment installation, process validation, staffing, and production ramp-up. 

• Deploy and sustain Danaher Business System (DBS) tools including Daily Management, Standard Work, and Kaizen. 

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality system, and customer requirements. 

• Establish production, capacity, and inventory plans aligned with business demand. 

• Drive continuous improvement through structured problem solving and data-driven decision making. 

• Develop and lead a high-performing operations leadership team and robust talent pipeline. 

• Partner cross-functionally with Singapore and California Factories, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, HR, and Commercial teams. 

• Manage site budget, cost control, and productivity improvement initiatives. 

Most Important Competencies Required:

• Strong manufacturing and site leadership capability 

• Deep understanding of lean manufacturing and DBS 

• Ability to lead change and operate in a matrixed global organization 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and execution skills 

• Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred. 

• 12–15 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations within regulated industries. 

• Proven experience leading a manufacturing site or major operations organization. 

• Experience in site start-up, expansion, or transformation projects.
