The Global PT Mounts Systems group is responsible for developing Mounts and implementing them into all Ford Motor Company vehicles.  The Powertrain Mounts Department executes the design, release, and testing of Mounts for ICE, BEV and HEV vehicles. This position will be responsible for Core, Attribute for all global applications and Design and Release for FNA applications.    

In this position...

  • Manage a department of about ~25 people with responsibility for program delivery, quality, and cost improvement actions.  The position also covers core engineering that develops the FEMA, test methods, design rules, and requirements.
  • Milestone sign off for all programs globally for PT mounts systems.
  • Drive teams to develop, correlate and apply new CAE methods to support product development and virtual test sign-off.
  • Interface with teams throughout the company to enable the optimum attribute trade-offs.
  • Interface with application and core and attribute teams support overall vehicle sign-off.


What you'll do...

  • Lead warranty reduction analysis.
  • Lead TVM / Cost Reduction while maintaining quality.
  • Lead PRA actions.
  • Support the CBP strategy for Mounts.
  • Lead potential recall discussions and durability failure discussions.  
  • Oversee releases, issue resolution, sourcing actions, cost reduction actions, and quality issues.

You'll have...

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • A strong understanding of NVH, Vibration and durability.
  • 5+ years minimum experience in vehicle development processes.
  • Self-directed, confident, and resilient individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem Solving skills.
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Motivation to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues and effectively communicate to management.

 

Even better, you may have...

  • Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years plus experience in automotive ICE/Powertrain or vehicle CAE & testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively represent the company and interact with suppliers.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and express new ideas to all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated delivery of results.
  • Ability to balance objectives and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to institutionalize the key factors of thermal systems success and lessons learned through documentation.
  • Ability to form an opinion, communicate it effectively at all levels, and drive the company in a winning direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and follow-up.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
