Role purpose:

The role is responsible for supporting Japan Vision Care business by translating pricing strategy, rebate frameworks, and customer-level analysis into actionable commercial execution.

Reporting to Strategic Pricing Senior Manager, this position will work closely with Sales to develop fact-based customer business cases, manage pricing and rebate initiatives, and maintain disciplined tracking of sales, margin, gross-to-net, ASP, sell-in / sell-out, and market performance.

This is not a pure reporting role. The successful candidate is expected to combine strong Excel-based analytical modeling, commercial acumen, and execution ownership to support profitable growth and pricing discipline.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Pricing and rebate execution management
Support the implementation and management of customer pricing and rebate programs. Track performance against agreed targets, ensure rebate schemes are linked to incremental and measurable business outcomes, and identify risks of margin leakage.

  • Sales-facing commercial partnership
Partner with Account Managers and BDMs to refine commercial proposals and support execution. Understand Sales requests and customer context, while challenging assumptions when necessary, with data, logic, and profitability perspectives.

  • Pricing governance and trade terms management
Operate and maintain existing pricing frameworks, approval processes, customer segmentation, and trade terms. Support disciplined deal governance and ensure pricing decisions are transparent, consistent, and aligned with business objectives.

  • Recurring reporting and performance tracking
Independently manage weekly/monthly reporting related to pricing, rebate, sales performance, GM, G2N, ASP, market share, and promotional effectiveness. Review data quality, identify anomalies, and escalate key risks or opportunities.

  • Commercial insight and ad-hoc analysis
Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support senior management decision-making, commercial initiatives, and profitability improvement. Summarize analytical findings into simple, actionable messages that lead to business decisions and follow-up actions. Translate findings into clear commercial implications and practical recommendations for Sales and management.

Experience requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in pricing, revenue management, FP&A, commercial finance, sales planning, business analytics, commercial excellence, trade promotion management, consulting, or related fields

  • Direct pricing or rebate experience is preferred, but not mandatory if the candidate has relevant experience in profitability analysis, business planning, customer/account analysis, or sales-facing commercial support.

  • Strong Excel-based analytical modeling skills, with the ability to structure complex data, build practical business cases, and analyze sales, price, volume, mix, margin, and rebate impact.

  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to connect analysis to commercial implications and practical actions.

  • Ability to take a fact-based position, challenge assumptions constructively, and avoid simply accepting stakeholder requests at face value.

  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders such as Sales, Finance, Marketing, or business leadership.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex analysis into clear messages for Sales and management.

  • Hands-on, proactive, and execution-oriented mindset; able to follow up, push stakeholders when needed, and get things done even when data or processes are imperfect.

  • Japanese fluency required. Business-level English preferred; ability to participate and express views in English meetings is desirable

  • Power BI, Power Query, SQL, Python, or other analytics tools are nice to have, but not mandatory.
