Accountabilities:

    The National Director, Distinguished Events will provide enterprise-level leadership for a portfolio of fundraising events, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals and maximizing impact across markets.

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for distinguished events, including growth initiatives, market opportunities, and long-term program development.
    • Drive achievement of annual revenue goals of approximately $4 million across major fundraising events, including galas, golf events, leadership gatherings, and other signature programs.
    • Establish event objectives, KPIs, benchmarks, and success metrics while monitoring performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Partner with regional leadership teams to guide event strategy, strengthen execution, and ensure a consistent and engaging participant experience.
    • Support change management efforts in developing markets by helping teams implement national strategies and maintain operational effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and internal teams to create impactful promotional campaigns and leverage digital tools to expand event reach.
    • Provide coaching, training, and strategic guidance to development teams to strengthen fundraising capabilities and team performance.
    • Manage budgets, evaluate financial performance, and ensure responsible allocation of resources.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate will be an experienced fundraising and events leader with a proven ability to build large-scale programs, influence stakeholders, and deliver measurable results in a mission-driven environment.

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience, with 7–10 years of experience in development, nonprofit fundraising, and event management.
      • Demonstrated success in creating and executing large-scale distinguished events and fundraising initiatives.
      • Strong background in strategic planning, budget management, volunteer engagement, and program growth.
      • Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with executives, staff members, volunteers, and external partners.
      • Experience coaching teams, developing talent, and fostering inclusive, collaborative work environments.
      • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
      • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with sound professional judgment.
      • Ability to work effectively through others to achieve organizational goals.
      • Willingness to travel up to 25% and occasionally work evenings or weekends for business needs and events.
