Compensation & Benefits Specialist – Iberia (Spain & Portugal) - Based in Madrid

We are seeking a Compensation & Benefits Specialist to join our Iberia HR team, supporting Spain and Portugal within a dynamic, international environment.

This role sits at the core of our reward governance and people strategy, ensuring our compensation and benefits frameworks are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with both local market realities and broader European standards.

You will act as a key advisor in Iberia for compensation cycles, pay equity, benefits strategy, and reward analytics, working in close partnership with HR, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and our European Reward team.

With a dual reporting line to the HR Director Iberia and the Senior Director Compensation & Benefits EMEA, you'll gain valuable international exposure while helping deliver fair, competitive and data-driven reward practices across the region.

The role

In this position, you will contribute to the design, governance, and execution of our reward agenda across Iberia, with exposure to both operational delivery and strategic decision-making.

Key areas of impact include:

  • Leading and supporting annual compensation cycles (salary review, bonus, and incentives) across Spain and Portugal
  • Driving pay equity analysis and supporting gender pay gap and EU pay transparency readiness
  • Contributing to the design and maintenance of job architecture, grading structures, and salary frameworks
  • Delivering compensation benchmarking and market analysis, leveraging Mercer methodologies
  • Overseeing benefits administration and supporting optimization of the Iberia benefits offering
  • Developing reward analytics, dashboards, and insights to support leadership decision-making
  • Ensuring robust governance, compliance, and consistency across all reward processes

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits, Reward, HR Operations, HR Controlling, Payroll, or HR Analytics
  • Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel and data interpretation skills
  • Proven experience in annual compensation processes, benchmarking, and benefits management
  • Solid understanding of the Spanish reward market (Portugal exposure is an advantage)
  • Experience working in multinational or matrix environments with multiple stakeholders
  • Exposure to Mercer compensation frameworks highly valued
  • Familiarity with pay equity tools such as Syndio is a strong plus
  • Ability to translate complex reward data into clear, business-relevant insights

Why this role matters

This is a high-impact role within the Iberia HR function, where you will directly influence pay fairness, reward transparency, and compensation governance.

Your work will contribute to shaping how we attract, retain, and reward talent across Spain and Portugal, with increasing relevance in the context of evolving EU pay transparency regulations.

What we offer

  • €35,000 gross annual salary
  • €3,500 annual bonus
  • Hybrid working model (50%): alternating one week working from home and one week in the office in Madrid
  • Full Henry Schein Iberia benefits package, including:
    • Flexible benefits framework
    • Access to Sanitas private health insurance through our flexible compensation plan
    • Employee wellbeing initiatives and support programs
    • Hybrid and flexible working approach
    • Summer working schedule: 08:00–15:00 (July & August)
    • 24 working days of annual leave
    • Additional company days off: December 24th and December 31st
    • Birthday day off as an additional paid leave day
