Land Planning Analyst
Overview
Kimley-Horn is in need of an entry-level Planning candidate with a relevant degree in our St. Paul, Minnesota (MN) office in 2027. Our office completes a wide range of planning work including aviation, land use, transportation, and more! We are seeking a graduate who is a dynamic, motivated individual that has problem solving and communication skills and a strong work ethic. We desire to have someone who is interested in challenging assignments, advancement potential, and a cooperative work environment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities would include assisting with the development of planning studies and conceptual engineering along with tasks listed below:
- Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients' visions for the future built environment.
- Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn's and our client's practices, procedures, and standards.
- Evaluate transportation infrastructure to identify needs and development opportunities.
- Prepare planning studies and schematic design concepts.
- Coordinate with various clients and stakeholders, including airports, municipal and state agencies, developers, and members of the general public.
- Gain exposure to diverse project experiences as we provide services to both the public and private sectors.
Qualifications
- Have or in the process of receiving a BS or MS in Planning or Engineering from an accredited program by summer of 2024.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Detail oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Ability to perform assignments and duties with minimal supervision
- Desire to learn and develop
- Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
- Willingness to be flexible, independent, and creative
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) and the ability to quickly learn other software systems
- Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
Salary: $80,000 - $83,000
