Accountabilities:
- Design, engineer, and optimize hybrid network architectures spanning on-premises infrastructure and multi-cloud environments, including cloud connectivity, segmentation, SD-WAN, and scalable network services.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, scripting, and workflow tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting efforts for complex network incidents involving routing, switching, security policies, load balancing, cloud connectivity, and enterprise services.
- Serve as the technical lead for medium and large-scale network projects, including migrations, modernization efforts, expansions, and infrastructure improvements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including engineering designs, diagrams, implementation plans, test procedures, rollback strategies, and automation scripts.
- Collaborate with Security, Platform, Storage, Application, Telecom, and other technology teams to deliver integrated solutions and resolve dependencies.
- Evaluate emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements aligned with approved architectural strategies.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to network engineers through design reviews, knowledge sharing, and best-practice development.
- Analyze network performance, capacity, utilization, and cost metrics to support optimization initiatives and strategic planning.
- Maintain operational excellence by improving documentation, standardizing processes, supporting incident communications, and enhancing self-service capabilities.
- Participate in 24x7 mission-critical support activities and provide technical expertise during high-priority incidents.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of progressive network engineering experience within medium to large enterprise environments.
- 3+ years of experience designing and operating cloud networking environments, including AWS, Azure, hybrid connectivity, private endpoints, cloud firewalls, and related services.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex multi-site and multi-cloud implementations, migrations, or modernization projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with network automation, including Terraform, Ansible, Python scripting, GitHub Actions workflows, or similar technologies.
- Advanced troubleshooting expertise across routing, switching, DNS, VPNs, network security, load balancing, and cloud/SaaS connectivity.
- Deep understanding of Layer 2/3 networking protocols, including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP/VRRP, spanning tree technologies, traffic engineering, and routing policies.
- Strong knowledge of network security solutions, including next-generation firewalls, segmentation, IPS/IDS, zero-trust access, VPN technologies, and encryption concepts.
- Experience with cloud networking concepts such as transit gateways, virtual network peering, private links/endpoints, cloud load balancing, DNS, and security policies.
- Ability to use telemetry, monitoring, packet capture, flow analytics, and observability tools to support data-driven decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
- Proven ability to mentor peers, collaborate across teams, and influence decisions without direct authority.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to provide on-demand support in a 24x7 operational environment.
- Advanced networking or cloud certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, Azure Network Engineer Associate, PCNSE, or Arista certifications.
- 5+ years of experience with F5 load balancing technologies.
- 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- 5+ years of experience with Arista data center switching environments.
- Experience leveraging AI tools for programming, automation, troubleshooting, or operational improvements.
- Competitive salary range of approximately $82,773 to $204,439 annually depending on location, experience, skills, and qualifications.
