About our Team:
The Data Science – Health Technology team leverages Generative AI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and statistical techniques to build impactful solutions in the Health Sciences domain. As an entry-level team member, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, work on meaningful projects, and develop your skills in applying AI technologies to real-world challenges.
About the Role:
As an Entry-Level Data Scientist, you will contribute to the development and deployment of modern AI-driven solutions, including Generative AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications. You will support the design, implementation, and evaluation of machine learning models, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, under the guidance of senior team members. In this role, you will assist in building and testing data science workflows, helping to ensure model performance, reliability, and responsible AI usage. You will be involved in various stages of the data science lifecycle, including data preparation, model development, evaluation, and basic deployment support.
You will gain hands-on experience working with tools and technologies such as Python, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and modern AI frameworks. Exposure to concepts like AI agents and context management (e.g., Model Context Protocol) will be part of your learning journey. You will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to support the development and operationalization of data-driven solutions. This role is ideal for candidates with a foundational understanding of machine learning, NLP, and Generative AI, along with basic proficiency in Python, who are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data to support machine learning and data science projects.
Support the development and evaluation of machine learning models, including defining basic quality metrics and reporting results to team members.
Contribute to building and maintaining Python-based components of data science pipelines (e.g., data preprocessing, model inference, and evaluation) under guidance.
Help in the development and testing of Generative AI and NLP-based solutions for business use cases.
Assist in working with and improving Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines as per project requirements.
Perform data ingestion, preprocessing, and transformation tasks to prepare high-quality datasets for modeling.
Gain exposure to AI agent frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, Haystack, or similar tools, and support their implementation.
Support fine-tuning and experimentation with machine learning and transformer-based models under supervision.
Assist in implementing basic evaluation checks and guardrails to promote responsible AI usage.
Conduct testing and validation of models to ensure acceptable performance and reliability.
Collaborate with team members to integrate data science components into larger systems and workflows.
Monitor model outputs and assist in identifying issues such as data or model drift.
Help document workflows, model performance, and pipeline processes for internal use.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the deployment of AI solutions.
Stay updated with emerging trends in AI, machine learning, and NLP, and actively participate in learning opportunities.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
Familiarity with transformer models and introductory concepts of working with large language models (LLMs).
Exposure to Generative AI technologies, including using LLM APIs, basic prompt engineering, and model evaluation concepts.
Understanding of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and awareness of their practical applications.
Knowledge of fundamental deep learning concepts such as neural networks and transfer learning; familiarity with reinforcement learning is a plus.
Familiarity with common machine learning algorithms such as logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, or SVMs.
Basic understanding of AI ethics, responsible AI practices, and model evaluation metrics.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, or similar).
Basic experience with version control systems (e.g., GitHub or GitLab) and awareness of Agile development practices.
Comfortable working with Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and standard data science libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Eagerness to learn new technologies and grow in the field of AI and data science.
