Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site. Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and assisting with patient positioning and mobility.
  • Perform clinical procedures including phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, basic laboratory testing, and medication administration under provider supervision.
  • Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR), including histories, provider notes, test results, referrals, and patient education.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, sterilize instruments, manage medical supplies, and ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, and front office functions while supporting efficient patient flow.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams while maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring high-quality, compassionate care.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies, upon hire and
  • completion of a Medical Assistant certification program at an accredited institution or validation of equivalent military training (i.e. Hospital Corpsman) that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities, upon hire and
  • Medical Assistant Certification: WA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

  • One year of work experience as a Medical Assistant
