You will join a highly technical quality engineering organization focused on ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of advanced firewall and network security products. In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of testing strategy and automation for critical SonicOS components, helping ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and high-quality cybersecurity solutions. You will work at the intersection of networking, security, and automation, building scalable test frameworks that validate complex distributed systems. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, involving close interaction with development, product, and support teams. You will also contribute to improving release quality, reducing regression cycles, and enhancing overall test coverage through automation-first practices. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys deep system debugging and building automation at scale. You will also play a key role in driving quality engineering standards across teams.

Accountabilities:

    • Own test strategy, planning, execution, and final quality sign-off for SonicOS components
    • Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks, tools, and CI/CD-integrated test pipelines
    • Drive an automation-first approach for regression testing and continuously improve test coverage
    • Perform system-level, integration, upgrade/downgrade, and performance testing for network security features
    • Collaborate with development and product teams during design reviews, sprint planning, and defect triage
    • Lead root cause analysis of complex issues and validate fixes for critical customer-reported defects
    • Mentor QA engineers and review test plans, automation architecture, and coverage strategies
    • Monitor release readiness and quality metrics, including escape analysis and production validation
    • Contribute to improving testing standards, processes, and automation best practices across teams
    • Requirements:

      • 5+ years of experience in software testing or QA with strong focus on networking or security domains
      • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, NAT, VLANs, and firewall policies
      • Hands-on experience testing firewall and security features such as VPN, IPS, DPI, gateway AV, and related technologies
      • Strong automation experience using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, PyTest, or Robot Framework
      • Proficiency in Python or JavaScript for building automation frameworks and test tools
      • Experience with Linux/Unix environments, debugging logs, packet captures, and system traces (tcpdump, Wireshark)
      • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins and Git-based workflows
      • Experience using defect tracking systems such as JIRA and test management tools
      • Strong analytical and debugging skills with ability to isolate complex system issues
      • Excellent communication skills with ability to work across engineering and product teams
      • Strong ownership mindset with ability to lead quality initiatives independently
      • Nice to have: exposure to cloud environments (AWS/Azure), signature-based security services, or customer escalation handling
