Product Staff is how we build at Instagram: small, talent-dense teams of product builders, engineers, designers, and data scientists focused on creating amazing products directly. Beyond setting strategy, Members of the Product Staff create directional design, analyze data hands-on, and leverage AI tools to move faster with fewer handoffs. We are looking for product builders who value moving quickly and embrace AI-native product development. **Required Skills:** Director, Product Staff Responsibilities: 1. Vision & Strategy: 2. Is the primary driver for identifying and shaping transformative, long-term opportunities across multiple large Product areas or portfolios, setting vision and strategy that influences Meta’s broader organizational and industry direction. 3. Generates buy-in and drives consensus across multiple organizations and senior leadership, bringing clarity and structure to highly ambiguous, company-level opportunities 4. consistently demonstrates initiative and executes with minimal oversight, often setting new standards. 5. Set the standard for critically evaluating when AI is (and isn't) the optimal solution across product portfolios. 6. Champion AI-native strategies including comprehensive evals and data strategies that enable org-wide excellence. 7. Leadership & Collaboration: 8. Lead a team through the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products. 9. Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers and designers. 10. Attract, build, manage, and develop a talented team of product staff and product leaders with a broad range of experiences, perspectives, approaches, and backgrounds—with emphasis on AI-native capabilities. 11. Reimagine workflows, responsibly using AI tools to transform team velocity and capability at organizational scale. 12. Foster a culture of rapid experimentation and learning that becomes a competitive advantage for the organization. 13. Scale AI best practices (including responsible AI use), workflows, and artifacts across teams so organizational capability compounds over time. 14. Structure an org effectively around the most critical priorities and goals, including the right mix of generalist Product Staff and specialist depth. 15. Proactively increases the capacity of the effort through efficiency and recruiting. 16. Own org-wide standards and company-wide quality oversight standards for how Product Staff engage with data, including when tool-generated output is trustworthy versus when specialist validation is required. 17. Execution & Prioritization: 18. Orchestrate complex execution across multiple teams and organizations by combining AI automation with strategic human oversight. 19. Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and innovative solutions are the norm. 20. Technical / Analytical / Design: 21. Set expectations for product technical capability, including use of AI-enabled tools to build products. 22. Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction. 23. Ensure teams understand system/architecture trade-offs and how they impact user experience and business outcomes. 24. Communication: 25. Express complex and technical concepts at the right altitude, choosing the right medium and level of detail for executive, engineering, and cross-functional audiences. 26. Measurement & Impact: 27. Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products. 28. Establish evaluation (evals) as a first-class product practice across teams for AI-powered experiences. 29. Drive decision-making through user insights, quantitative analysis, and AI-accelerated experimentation. **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 30. 12+ years of experience in Product Management and/or Product Design 31. 10+ years of experience working collaboratively with engineering, design and user research teams 32. 8+ years of experience hiring, managing, and developing both individual contributors and senior leaders 33. Critical thinking/analytical leadership experience 34. Demonstrated proficiency using AI-enabled tools to build product artifacts at scale 35. Experience developing and championing AI-native strategies across organizations 36. Experience presenting to senior executive audiences 37.
