Sr Product Owner, Industrial & Physical AI, SMAI
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Join an inclusive team passionate about one thing: using their expertise in the relentless pursuit of innovation for customers and partners. The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.
We are hiring a Senior Product Owner, Industrial & Physical AI to own the requirements and specifications for AI applications spanning global construction, facility/EHS, digital twin and physical AI programs. Reporting to the Director of Industrial and Physical AI, you will translate executive stakeholders' needs into a prioritized product backlog, partner with the developer group to deliver, and run a hybrid agile / waterfall delivery model. Your work will directly shape how Micron integrates robotics, vision systems, AMRs, and edge intelligence across its worldwide fabs, and how AI is leveraged to compress schedules, raise the bar on safety, and cut installed capital costs across a multi-billion-dollar global expansion.
Job Responsibilities
Own the product backlog for Industrial and Physical AI, including: -
- Defining the product roadmap for the AI for Industrial and Physical AI product portfolio, aligned to the Director's strategic roadmap and the active megafab schedules
- Lead stakeholder discovery with global/site Construction teams/vendors, Manufacturing Operations, Equipment Engineering, AMHS / Material Handling, EHS and Facilities to capture business needs and constraints and define success criteria
- Translate stakeholder needs into clear, testable requirements -- user stories, acceptance criteria, BRDs, FRDs, data contracts, and AI model performance targets
- Run a hybrid agile / waterfall delivery model: waterfall stage gates for capital approvals and integration milestones; agile sprints for software, UI, and AI-model iteration
- Maintain the prioritised backlog and make timely scope, sequencing, and trade-off decisions with the Director
- Partner with the developer group (full-stack, data, ML, and integration engineers) through every sprint -- backlog refinement, planning, demo, retro, release
- and track product KPIs and report progress to executive sponsors at the published cadence
- Drive UAT, change management, training, and rollout across pilot sites, then scale to the megafab program; own the operating model and support hand-off
- Manage vendor and partner relationships (BIM, CV/safety, GenAI assistants), robotics, AMHS, and platform partners (NVIDIA, Daifuku, Murata, Fabmatics, humanoid OEMs) including statements of work, acceptance criteria, and quality reviews Manage
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical / Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management, Computer Science, or related field (Master's a strong plus)
- 6+ years in product ownership, product management, or technical program management for software, data, or AI products in industrial / construction / heavy-industry environments
- Demonstrated experience running hybrid agile / waterfall delivery
- Knowledge on modern AI/ML and data platforms
- Familiarity with either construction workflows: BIM/VDC, scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6), RFIs/submittals, EHS, procurement, and field operations or Physical AI stack (NVIDIA Isaac Sim / Isaac Lab / Cosmos / Jetson Thor, ROS 2, Omniverse / OpenUSD, computer vision, AMR / AGV platforms) would be advantageous
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and prioritisation skills in matrixed global organisations
