Accountabilities:

    The Leadership Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and improving professional learning resources that help school and district leaders apply effective leadership practices. The role requires strong expertise in instructional coaching, educational frameworks, and translating complex ideas into accessible, actionable learning experiences.

    • Design and develop high-quality asynchronous learning experiences, including e-learning courses, toolkits, templates, job aids, and leadership resources.
    • Translate leadership frameworks, instructional models, and organizational priorities into practical resources for education leaders.
    • Create implementation-focused materials supporting instructional coaching, data-driven instruction, observation and feedback practices, and school improvement initiatives.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts, academic teams, and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with learning objectives.
    • Partner with production and design teams to develop engaging multimedia learning experiences, including interactive modules, videos, and scenario-based learning.
    • Review and enhance existing professional development materials to improve quality, consistency, and learner impact.
    • Apply adult learning principles and microlearning strategies to create effective and accessible learning content.
    • Support the development of leadership learning pathways, resource libraries, onboarding materials, and professional learning programs.
    • Ensure learning materials are designed to improve educator practice and support measurable outcomes.
    • Stay informed on trends in instructional leadership, coaching practices, education policy, and accountability frameworks.
    • Contribute ideas and recommendations to continuously improve leadership development initiatives.
    • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational objectives.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced education professional with a strong background in leadership development, instructional coaching, and adult learning. Success in this role requires the ability to create meaningful learning experiences, communicate complex concepts clearly, and connect educational theory with practical application.

      • Two to five years of relevant experience in talent development, professional learning, educational training, or a related field.
      • Experience in school or district leadership roles, such as principal, assistant principal, instructional coach, or district-level leader.
      • Strong understanding of effective training methodologies and adult learning practices.
      • Demonstrated expertise in instructional coaching, mentoring, and supporting education leaders.
      • Deep knowledge of instructional best practices, observation and feedback cycles, and data-driven improvement strategies.
      • Experience developing professional learning content, curriculum, or instructional materials for adult audiences.
      • Ability to transform complex concepts into clear, practical, and actionable resources.
      • Strong written communication, content development, and organizational skills.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and web-based tools.
      • Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
      • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field is preferred.
      • Principal certification, school leadership experience, and familiarity with leadership frameworks such as PSEL are valued.
      • Experience with state accountability frameworks and school improvement planning is a plus.
