Responsible for coordinating appointments for patients and medical practitioners. Ensure that sufficient time is allocated to each appointment.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments as required.
2. Answering patient's questions regarding basic medical tests and procedures.
3. Providing instructions to patients to ensure that they are prepared for examinations and procedures.
4. Confirming patient appointments.
5. Courteously receiving incoming telephone calls and taking messages as needed.
6. Explaining financial requirements and obligations to patients and entering payments into the practice management system.
7. Scheduling referral appointments and follow-ups.
8. Verifying insurance details and informing patients of un-covered fees.
9. Filing documents and organizing supplies.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

LEVEL I 0-3 years of prior experience, High School Diploma or equivalent. Work and tasks are most often routine, structured and transactional in nature, may require physical labor; work requires minimal variance from guidelines and procedures. Makes routine decisions regarding assigned task within defined parameters, often limited and confined to ongoing matters. No leadership responsibility.
