Accountabilities:
- Deliver comprehensive virtual medical weight management care through real-time telemedicine visits, including patient evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage obesity as a chronic disease along with related health conditions using evidence-based clinical practices.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including physicians, nurse practitioners, dietitians, registered nurses, care navigators, and engagement specialists.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe appropriate medications, and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical needs.
- Engage patients in shared decision-making by explaining treatment options, risks, benefits, and strategies for achieving sustainable health improvements.
- Provide culturally responsive counseling that supports behavioral changes, patient confidence, and long-term adherence to care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients through synchronous telemedicine appointments and asynchronous messaging while addressing concerns promptly.
- Participate in clinical meetings, care conferences, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
- Coordinate care with external healthcare providers and organizations while maintaining compliance with HIPAA requirements and telehealth regulations.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within electronic health record systems.
- Support operational excellence by following clinical protocols, collaborative practice agreements, and applicable state-specific requirements.
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in good standing with eligibility to practice in designated states.
- Board certification in Family or Adult Nursing through a recognized organization such as ANCC or AANP.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including at least 1 year of experience in obesity medicine and telemedicine.
- Multi-state licensure with active licenses in 7+ states and valid prescribing authority.
- Ability and willingness to obtain additional unrestricted state licenses as required.
- Strong clinical judgment with the ability to work independently and make evidence-based decisions.
- Commitment to health equity and delivering culturally appropriate, patient-centered care.
- Comfortable using telemedicine platforms, digital health tools, electronic health records, and evolving clinical protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and explain complex medical concepts clearly.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage patient care effectively in a remote environment.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection that meets technical requirements for virtual care delivery.
- Obesity medicine certification, prior telemedicine experience, or familiarity with value-based care models is preferred.
- Experience working with multi-state licenses, outcomes-focused healthcare programs, and interdisciplinary teams is a plus.
- Self-motivated professional who can work independently while maintaining strong collaboration and accountability.
- Competitive salary range of $120,000 - $140,000, with potential bonus opportunities based on qualifications, experience, and location.
