We’re looking for a Talent Development Specialist who combines operational excellence with strategic thinking to support the design, execution, and continuous improvement of talent-facing programs and initiatives. This role plays a key part in delivering scalable experiences that improve talent engagement, professional growth, and overall success within the Toptal network.

You will coordinate cross-functional initiatives, support program launches, manage operational workflows, analyze performance data, and identify opportunities to improve both internal processes and the overall talent experience. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business to transform strategic priorities into scalable programs and operational excellence.

Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, distributed environment. You should enjoy solving operational challenges, working with data, collaborating across teams, and continuously looking for ways to improve how we serve our talent community. Talent Experience Operations

  • Support talent throughout their journey by providing timely, thoughtful guidance across Talent Experience channels while applying company policies and operational guidelines consistently.
  • Execute and continuously improve operational workflows supporting talent programs, certifications, referrals, community initiatives, availability, rates, learning resources, and other Talent Experience operations.
  • Assess talent needs, determine the appropriate resolution or escalation path, and ensure a seamless experience throughout operational processes.

Program Coordination & Execution

  • Coordinate the planning, execution, communication, tracking, and reporting of Talent Experience programs and initiatives.
  • Support the successful rollout of new talent-facing programs by coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders and ensuring operational readiness.
  • Manage participant communications, registrations, tracking, documentation, and post-program follow-up for Talent Experience initiatives.
  • Coordinate operational aspects of community engagement campaigns, learning initiatives, certification programs, and other strategic projects.
  • Support pilot programs and experiments by helping define operational processes, collecting feedback, and measuring results.

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve existing workflows, policies, and operational processes to increase scalability, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Translate operational feedback into actionable recommendations that improve both internal processes and the talent experience.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new Talent Experience programs, operational frameworks, and internal processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and operational optimization to reduce manual work and improve team efficiency.
  • Maintain and continuously improve internal documentation, knowledge bases, and process guides.

Data, Reporting & Insights

  • Maintain operational trackers, dashboards, and reporting systems supporting Talent Experience initiatives.
  • Monitor key program and operational metrics, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Support recurring reporting related to talent engagement, program adoption, community participation, certifications, referrals, learning initiatives, and other Talent Experience metrics.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to successfully deliver talent-facing initiatives and ensure alignment across teams.
  • Serve as a reliable operational partner during program launches, policy updates, and process improvements.
  • Support change management efforts by coordinating communications, documentation updates, and operational readiness activities.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with team members through Slack, Zoom, and other collaboration tools.

In the first week, expect to:

  • Complete onboarding and become familiar with the Talent Experience team’s mission, priorities, and operating model.
  • Learn the systems, tools, documentation, and communication channels used to support talent.
  • Develop an understanding of the talent lifecycle and how Talent Experience partners with teams across Toptal.
  • Become familiar with core Talent Experience programs, operational workflows, and key policies.

In the first month, expect to:

  • Begin independently managing routine Talent Experience workflows while supporting larger strategic initiatives.
  • Learn the end-to-end operational processes supporting talent programs, certifications, learning resources, referrals, community initiatives, availability, and rate-related workflows.
  • Support the coordination of ongoing Talent Experience initiatives and recurring operational activities.
  • Become familiar with reporting processes, operational dashboards, and key performance metrics.
  • Start contributing to documentation updates and process improvement initiatives.

In the first three months, expect to:

  • Independently manage core Talent Experience operational responsibilities, while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Coordinate assigned talent programs and cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Build trusted working relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple teams.
  • Take ownership of recurring reporting, operational trackers, and program documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and contribute recommendations for operational enhancements.

In the first six months, expect to:

  • Independently coordinate Talent Experience initiatives while balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Become a trusted operational partner for cross-functional projects impacting the talent experience.
  • Lead operational improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, or scalability.
  • Contribute to strategic planning discussions by providing operational insights and recommendations supported by data.
  • Help improve internal processes through documentation, automation opportunities, and workflow optimization.

In the first year, expect to:

  • Partner confidently with stakeholders across the organization to deliver high-quality talent-facing experiences.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the Talent Experience team’s strategic roadmap by identifying opportunities, proposing solutions, and helping execute key initiatives.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 4+ years of experience in Program Coordination, Operations, Customer Success, Community Operations, Learning & Development Operations, People Operations, Talent Operations, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional Slack, email, and video meeting etiquette.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to execute operational processes accurately while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives from concept through launch involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret operational data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with experience identifying process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, reporting tools, and operational metrics.
