**Summary:** Meta is seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive the development and delivery of display and optics systems for next-generation augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality devices. In this role, you will lead cross-functional programs spanning optical design, display module integration, and optical metrology, partnering with hardware engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to bring cutting-edge display and optics technologies from concept to mass production. You will define program structure, manage technical risks, and communicate program status to engineering teams and executive stakeholders, ensuring that display performance targets and optical specifications are met across all development phases. **Required Skills:** Technical Program Manager, Display and Optics Responsibilities: 1. Lead end-to-end program execution for display and optics subsystems across prototype, EVT, DVT, and PVT phases, tracking milestones, managing dependencies, and driving resolution of technical blockers 2. Translate optical and display engineering requirements into structured program plans, aligning cross-functional teams including optical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain 3. Conduct technical assessments of display module and optical component development, identifying risks related to yield, optical performance, and schedule, and driving mitigation strategies 4. Develop and maintain detailed risk registers for display and optics programs, using quantitative methods to evaluate schedule, cost, and performance risks and communicate status to cross-functional leadership 5. Partner with optical metrology and characterization teams to define acceptance criteria, track measurement results, and drive corrective actions when display or optics specifications are not met 6. Drive alignment across internal engineering teams and external component suppliers on optical specifications, design-for-manufacturability requirements, and development timelines 7. Create well-structured, tailored communications for both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive-level program reviews covering display and optics program health, risks, and decisions 8. Identify and implement process improvements and program management best practices specific to display and optics development workflows, including leveraging AI tools to redesign and optimize program tracking and reporting 9. Contribute to the broader Technical Program Management community by onboarding new team members, supporting hiring and interviewing, and sharing best practices in hardware program management 10. Hold cross-functional stakeholders accountable for commitments on optical component qualification, display integration milestones, and readiness gates **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 11. 6+ years of experience in technical program management or engineering program management for hardware products, with direct involvement in display systems, optics, or photonics subsystems 12. Experience managing cross-functional hardware programs through multiple development phases, including prototype builds, design verification, and new product introduction 13. Experience conducting technical assessments of optical or display systems, identifying interdependencies, and translating engineering data into actionable program decisions 14. Experience developing structured risk mitigation plans and communicating program risks and status to engineering teams and executive stakeholders 15. Experience driving cross-functional alignment across hardware engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams on technical specifications and program schedules **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 16. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) 17. Familiarity with optical design concepts such as waveguides, pancake lenses, micro-OLED or micro-LED display technologies, or optical system characterization methods 18. Experience managing programs involving external optical component suppliers or display module vendors, including design-for-manufacturability reviews and supplier readiness assessments 19. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies 20. Experience with optical component qualification, display module integration, or optical metrology in the context of consumer electronics or wearable devices such as AR glasses, VR headsets, or mixed reality devices 21. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) 22. Demonstrated use of AI tools to redesign program management workflows, automate reporting, or improve decision-making speed and quality in a hardware development context **Industry:** Internet
