Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer), you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support.

  • Explains procedure before beginning each study, prepping patient, calibrating equipment, and entering patient data with an accuracy rate of 95% to 98%.
  • Records appropriate cardiac structure on tape and hard copy to determine overall function of the heart with less than 2% omission rate.
  • Disposition of studies by patient status and age of order.
  • Completes study within scheduled shift unless cleared by the supervisor, noting completion on patient's chart 95% to 98% of the time.
  • Prepares test results for physician's interpretation providing all pertinent patient data, accurately recording measurements on data sheet.
  • Copies and disperses study to appropriate areas.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Associates Of Science College education with courses in physiology and anatomy.
  • Experience in echocardiographic and Doppler technology or the ability to exhibit the special skills listed.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
  • Knowledge of: EKG procedures and equipment, basic cardiac and human body anatomy and physiology, basic interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias, cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • General filing procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with a wide variety of hospital personnel -act courteously and with tact in dealing with patients, visitors and the public explain procedures to patients.
  • Works effectively under stress and adjust priorities as circumstances require.
  • organize work assignments.
