This role focuses on designing, developing, and enhancing solutions within the PTC Windchill PLM ecosystem to support complex product lifecycle and manufacturing processes.
You will work on building robust customizations, integrations, and workflows that improve system performance and business efficiency.
The position plays a key role in translating engineering and business requirements into scalable technical solutions used across enterprise environments.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, product, and operations teams, to deliver reliable PLM capabilities.
The environment is highly technical and hands-on, with strong emphasis on software engineering discipline, code quality, and best practices.
You will also contribute to system stability, upgrades, documentation, and post-go-live support activities in production environments.

Accountabilities:

    • Design and develop Windchill customizations using Java APIs and PTC-recommended best practices, ensuring scalable and upgrade-safe solutions.
    • Build and maintain workflows, lifecycle templates, object initialization rules, and system behaviors within Windchill.
    • Develop integrations using Info*Engine, adapters, and custom services to connect Windchill with enterprise systems.
    • Create and support UI extensions using JSP/HTML where required for enhanced user experience.
    • Develop reporting solutions using Windchill reporting tools and Cognos integration.
    • Optimize application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and support root-cause analysis activities.
    • Lead documentation efforts, code reviews, and mentorship to improve overall engineering quality and consistency.
    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
      • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing with PTC Windchill.
      • Strong expertise in Windchill Java API and PLM customization patterns.
      • Solid experience with workflows, lifecycle management, and object initialization rules.
      • Proficiency in Info*Engine, integration frameworks, and Windchill data models.
      • Experience with JSP/HTML-based customizations and SQL database queries.
      • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
      • Experience with system upgrades, migrations, and production support.
      • Ability to work in a full-time W2 environment (no C2C or 1099 arrangements).
      • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.; H1B transfer support may be available for eligible profiles (no new sponsorship).
