Our exciting opportunityWe're looking for a Head of People to lead our Japan operations. In this role, you'll own the full spectrum of HR operations for Ericsson Japan - from shaping People programs that drive sustainable business growth to managing day-to-day operations for our legal entity. You'll be part of Ericsson's Market Area North East Asia (MNEA) People Function, actively reshaping how we work, partnering with business leaders to strengthen our culture and enhance how we attract, develop, and retain talents. Japan is one of Ericsson’s top three global investment markets. We recently announced a major R&D expansion in Yokohama, building out an innovation hub focused on programmable 5G, Open RAN, and next-generation mobile technology. There are hundreds of new roles and a clear signal of our commitment to Japan's leadership in connectivity. It also puts us right at the heart of AI-driven network evolution.The position is based in Yokohama, Japan, and serves as a leadership team member of the MNEA People function, offering a platform to work with broader scope and gain regional experiences.Key scope this opportunity will offer you:• Contribute to the business strategy by helping your leaders identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, wanted behaviors, organizational structures, and people related processes.• Provide professional advice and predictive analytics to guide business leaders through changes needed for people and organizations. • Identify needs, help to develop solutions, and execute programs in Japan that drive employee engagement, culture transformation, talent retention, diversity and inclusion.• Promote and oversee key processes in performance management, talent acquisition and development and total rewards in Japan.• Partner with our leaders by providing consultation, guidance, metrics, support, and development to increase the effectiveness of the organization.• As a member of MNEA People Function Leadership Team, collectively and collaboratively drive regional and global initiatives in strong partnership with Subject Matter Experts teams to deploy solutions directly in Japan.Skills, knowledge and experience to make you successful:
• Seasoned HR professional with knowledge of HR practices, principles, and procedures based on working closely with colleagues across the HR function and internal partners (SME, Finance, etc.). Deep knowledge and expertise in local labor laws and regulations are very valuable as the legal HR responsible for any people matters in Japan.• Strategic and critical thinker to connect business challenges and people strategy. Broad and detailed understanding of talent and competency needs of the organization and where gaps currently exist.• Changemaker to embrace and drive culture transformation and demonstrate business impact in a fast-paced work environment• Talent focused on engaging talents of the organization through championing a culture of recognition and empowerment.• Strong Execution ability to take fact-based courageous and ethical decisions on business-critical matters and prioritization and execute them seamlessly and speedily, delivering results in a timely manner• Influencing and Consultative to connect with people on many levels, create strong relationships and influence throughout the organization. • Open minded and supportive to new ways of working, focusing on addressing the intent and needs of the organization, generating new ideas and looking for ways to drive continuous improvements.• Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
