Accountabilities:
- Design, implement, test, and deploy software features and systems using Go and modern cloud-native technologies.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and end users to define solutions that address real-world mission needs.
- Develop and maintain software tools focused on package management, software lifecycle management, and secure deployment workflows.
- Work with open-source communities to contribute improvements, resolve issues, and enhance shared software ecosystems.
- Analyze ambiguous requirements, identify technical challenges, and propose effective solutions aligned with product goals.
- Own architectural decisions and contribute to maintaining high technical quality across engineering initiatives.
- Integrate software solutions with existing defense and enterprise systems while ensuring interoperability and security compliance.
- Participate in production support activities, including on-call rotations and troubleshooting operational issues.
- Create technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and maintenance documentation.
- Contribute to cloud-native and open-source projects while staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Mentor other engineers, share knowledge, and help improve engineering practices across the team.
- Influence product strategy by applying technical expertise and understanding user needs and system constraints.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang), with experience in additional modern programming languages considered a plus.
- Experience building software tools focused on software lifecycle management, deployment, or infrastructure automation.
- Strong understanding of system design, APIs, databases, and cloud architecture.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with OCI specifications, including image and distribution standards.
- Knowledge of software supply chain security practices, including SBOMs and security scanning.
- Experience with Kubernetes concepts and cloud-native application development.
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi is a plus.
- Ability to evaluate complex problems, design solutions, and implement them effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects or communities such as CNCF, ASF, or OpenSSF is highly valued.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with strong ownership and time management skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to meet government security requirements for the role.
- Competitive compensation range of $148,750 – $201,250 USD based on experience and qualifications.
