Job Description
The Data Analyst (DA) partners with business stakeholders to understand and execute against their stated priorities. Serving as a vital bridge between functional and technical teams, DA’s are responsible for capturing and translating high-level business needs into a comprehensive blueprint that guides both developers and stakeholders. This role remains fully engaged throughout the entire project lifecycle—working closely with the development team through delivery to validate that the final data solutions align with expectations.
Your Responsibilities
- Gather and validate business, technology, and data requirements to define scope, success criteria, and key metrics
- Translate business requirements into data modelling requirements, including entities, relationships, and data structures
- Design and build conceptual and logical (fact/dimension, star/snowflake schemas)
- Define data granularity, hierarchies, and data models to support analytics and reporting needs
- Work closely with business stakeholders and architects to ensure data models align with enterprise data architecture
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance, including metadata definition and approval
- Troubleshoots production incidents, identifying underlying data model discrepancies and delivering optimized design solutions.
- Leads stakeholder discussions to analyse and map business processes, translating them into comprehensive business requirements documentation (BRD) for the development team.
- Validates developed solutions align with requirements defined in the BRD.
- Collaborate across teams to identify dependencies and ensure smooth delivery of data solutions
The Essentials – You Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- Having experience in designing conceptual and logical models (fact/dimension, star/snowflake schemas)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
The Preferred – You Might Also Have
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience translating business requirements into data models and technical solutions
- Ability to work across cross-functional teams and challenge design decisions
- Understanding of system design, architecture standards, and data security principles
- Exposure to SAP systems (ECC, CRM, Hybris)
- Knowledge of planning applications (Hyperion, Enterprise Planning Management)
