The Logistics Sourcing Intelligence Manager is a leadership role within the Global Logistics & Spares Supply Chain Sourcing (GLSS) organization, responsible for managing logistics sourcing intelligence deliverables across various transportation modes, including air, ocean, surface, warehousing, brokerage, and related logistics services.

This role enables fact-based sourcing decisions, sustainable savings, cost avoidance, and commercial governance by building consistent analytics practices across RFIs, RFQs, solutioning support, rate benchmarking, spend analytics, and savings / avoidance reporting.

The manager is expected to bring broad logistics commercial understanding and strong procurement process knowledge, including Source-to-Contract (S2C), RFQ governance, supplier evaluation, negotiation analytics, sourcing tools such as Coupa Sourcing Optimizer, and executive-ready reporting.

The position strengthens GLSS capability by developing talent, standardizing sourcing intelligence methods, driving digital and AI-enabled analytics adoption, and ensuring that insights translate into practical sourcing actions and measurable business value.

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop logistics sourcing intelligence managers supporting multiple transportation modes and regions.
  • Set clear priorities, operating rhythms, quality expectations, and development plans for the team.
  • Build a high-performing analytics culture focused on ownership, stakeholder impact, business acumen, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance on complex sourcing analytics, commercial interpretation, and executive-ready storytelling without needing to be the deepest mode expert in every area.

2. Logistics Commercial Intelligence Across Modes

  • Own the common logistics commercial intelligence framework across air, ocean, surface, warehousing, brokerage, and related service categories.
  • Guide teams in interpreting freight rate structures, accessorials, fuel mechanisms, lane / network impacts, capacity dynamics, service trade-offs, and supplier commercial proposals.
  • Ensure consistent benchmarking, rate normalization, scenario modeling, and total cost comparison methods across sourcing events.
  • Translate logistics market signals and commercial trends into practical recommendations for sourcing strategy, cost mitigation, and supply chain resilience.

3. Source-to-Contract, RFQ & Solutioning Support

  • Provide leadership oversight across the S2C process, including RFI, RFQ, supplier response management, scenario analysis, evaluation support, recommendation development, and award readiness.
  • Partner with sourcing managers and solutioning teams to shape sourcing event design, bid templates, evaluation criteria, baseline assumptions, and negotiation targets.
  • Drive standardized RFQ governance, including data readiness, bid validation, supplier comparability, savings logic, auditability, and decision documentation.
  • Support solutioning work by helping teams connect logistics requirements, service design, supplier capabilities, cost models, and operational constraints.

4. Procurement Tools, Coupa Enablement & Digital Process Adoption

  • Provide functional leadership on procurement and sourcing tools, including Coupa or similar S2P / S2C platforms, to improve sourcing event execution and governance.
  • Define business requirements for digital RFQs, sourcing dashboards, analytics workflows, and future-state process improvements.
  • Partner with digital, IT, sourcing operations, and business users to improve tool adoption, process compliance, and data quality.
  • Promote AI-enabled analytics, automation, and reusable reporting models to improve productivity and decision quality across GLSS.

5. Spend Analytics, Savings & Avoidance Governance

  • Lead logistics spend analytics across modes to identify cost trends, demand shifts, rate risks, supplier concentration, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Ensure consistent savings and cost avoidance methodologies, including baseline management, negotiated vs. realized savings tracking, benefit validation, and leakage identification.
  • Build executive-ready reporting on sourcing performance, spend movement, commercial outcomes, and value delivery.
  • Use analytics to support budgeting, business planning, supplier reviews, and leadership decision-making.

6. Stakeholder, Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a interface between sourcing, finance, contracts, operations, partner management, digital teams, and regional stakeholders.
  • Influence sourcing and operations leaders through clear insights, structured recommendations, and strong commercial reasoning.
  • Support supplier-facing discussions by preparing fact-based views on pricing, service performance, competitive benchmarks, and negotiation levers.
  • Create alignment across global stakeholders while balancing standardization with regional business needs..

What you need to bring:

  • Broad logistics commercial knowledge across multiple modes; depth in one mode is helpful but not mandatory if the candidate can connect commercial principles across categories.
  • Strong understanding of Source-to-Contract processes, RFI / RFQ execution, supplier evaluation, negotiation support, and sourcing governance.
  • Experience supporting sourcing events through spend analysis, rate benchmarking, scenario modeling, savings calculations, and leadership recommendations.
