Equipment Operator II, Molding 3rd Shift

Position Summary 

Equipment Operator II is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of moderately complex injection molding machines.   This individual will ensure the continued operation of injection molding machines through interpretation of and appropriate response to machine faults and through occasional alignment of stations and fixtures.  This individual will perform moderately complex, repetitive tasks associated with machine operation and is expected to endure a moderate level of equipment attentiveness.  The operator is responsible for ensuring that products meet specifications and quality standards.   

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

• Adjust parameters (within allowable limits) to ensure good quality and optimal machine efficiency 
• Able to interpret machine faults and determine root cause.  Able to rectify issues (within the validated condition of the equipment) such that fault no longer occurs
• Capable of performing minor machine adjustments, changeovers, and setups without maintenance intervention 
• Able to trouble shoot and fix simple issue o Assist and escalate issues to technicians on issues that needs further investigation o Able to demonstrate flexibility in operating multiple machines of moderate complexity. Moderately Complex machines: 
  • Able to operate book molds   
  • Operate complex molds- Hyperflex   
  • Attention to detail to ensure molds are placed in the correct cavity to ensure molds are not damaged   

 

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience   

• Basic Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word) and computer experience preferred 
• High school diploma or GED required 
• 1+  years’ experience required   
• Must be 18 years of age 

  

Physical Requirements and Work Environment 

• Must be able to perform visual inspections with and without the aid of magnification tools 
• This job operates in a clean room environment- Must adhere to PPE (gowning) and GMP guidelines                  
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for the duration of the shift 
• Must be able to repetitively move and lift objects of up to 20 lbs
