Schedule
- Sunday through Thursday
- 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Schedule and hours may vary based on business needs.
- Overtime may be required.
Main Ingredients of the Job
As a Router, you will support transportation operations by creating safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery routes while helping ensure on-time customer deliveries.
Responsibilities include:
- Utilize routing software to assign customer orders to delivery routes and appropriate trucks.
- Balance trailer loads by weight, size, and pallet configuration to maximize efficiency.
- Build cost-effective routes while maintaining customer service requirements.
- Collaborate with Transportation, Warehouse, and Sales teams to ensure delivery feasibility.
- Prepare and maintain daily routing reports, route change requests, sequence change requests, and new customer requests.
- Maintain routing system parameters within routing software, including RoadNet and other transportation systems.
- Monitor routing efficiency and recommend improvements when appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based.
- Frequent interaction with warehouse and transportation operations.
- Occasional exposure to warehouse environments, including cooler and freezer areas.
What You Bring to the Table
Education
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Related Experience
- Minimum of six months of routing, transportation, logistics, or related administrative experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong computer skills including data entry, spreadsheets, report generation, and transportation software.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to resolve routine transportation issues independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work scheduled hours and overtime as business needs require.
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $28.00 and $33.00 per hour.
This role will also receive overtime compensation, as applicable.
