Job Summary
The Business Systems Analyst I is an early career role responsible for supporting ERP systems and related business applications in a manufacturing environment. This position assists with issue resolution, requirements and process documentation, testing, system maintenance, and user support while building foundational knowledge of business processes and system functionality. Working under the guidance of more experienced analysts and technical resources, the role helps translate business needs into practical system solutions and supports continuous improvement efforts. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, collaboration, and a service-oriented mindset.
Key Duties
ERP Support & Issue ResolutionProvide first-level support for ERP system issues and user inquiriesTroubleshoot basic system problems and escalate more complex issuesAssist with monitoring system performance and identifying recurring issuesBusiness Analysis SupportGather and document basic business and system requirementsAssist in analyzing workflows and identifying areas for improvementSupport senior analysts in projects and process improvement initiativesSystem Maintenance & EnhancementsAssist with system configuration and minor enhancementsSupport testing activities, including test case execution and defect trackingHelp implement system updates, patches, and releasesTesting & DocumentationExecute test scripts and document test resultsMaintain system documentation and update process materialsAssist in creating user guides and training documentationSecurity & Compliance AssistanceSupport user access requests and role assignmentsAssist with audit preparation and documentation collectionFollow established security and compliance proceduresLearning & DevelopmentDevelop knowledge of ERP systems, business processes, and IT standardsParticipate in training and mentorship opportunitiesBuild technical and functional expertise across ERP modulesOther duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.2+ years of experience supporting ERP systems, business applications, testing, documentation, or user support.Demonstrated customer-service mindset and ability to work effectively with business users.Foundational understanding of ERP systems and business applicationsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skillsAbility to support testing, issue resolution, and process documentationStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsTechnical aptitude and proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work collaboratively, manage assigned tasks, and follow established proceduresBasic awareness of security, access controls, and compliance requirements
Travel 10%
Preferred:Exposure to Infor XA or similar ERP systemsFamiliarity with SQL, reporting tools, XML, or programmingExperience in a manufacturing, regulated, or audit-driven environmentExposure to user support materials, training documentation, or project coordination activities
