Job Purpose
The Contingent Senior Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining a secure, reliable, well-documented, and resilient network and infrastructure environment while supporting operational efficiency, security posture, disaster recovery readiness, and collaboration with corporate Honda teams.
Primary Focus
• LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN/IPSec Tunnels, MPLS, firewalls, data center, monitoring, NTP, latency, and reliable connectivity.
Security & Risk Focus
• Firewall governance, vulnerability remediation, access controls, DLP, CrowdStrike, Windows Firewall, threat protection, and audit evidence.
Operational Focus
• Documentation, asset inventory, disaster recovery, environmental inspection, alerts, automation, AI-assisted analysis, and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Network & Infrastructure Administration
Design, implement, secure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN), firewalls, cloud services, Active Directory, and related systems to ensure availability, performance, and security.
Security & Access Management
Manage firewall policies, network access controls, vulnerability remediation, authentication, and role-based access in alignment with cybersecurity, compliance, and least-privilege standards.
Monitoring, Operations & Disaster Recovery
Monitor network and system health, maintain logging and alerting solutions, support disaster recovery and data center operations, and ensure accurate documentation, asset management, and configuration backups.
Cloud & Server Administration
Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Azure infrastructure, storage, backups, and network security services to support business operations.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
Leverage PowerShell, Python, IaC tools, AI-assisted technologies, and process automation to improve operational efficiency, standardize IT processes, and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
• 10+ years of practical network administration, infrastructure operations, troubleshooting, security operations, and enterprise support experience in high-demand environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, IPSec tunnels, NAT, Access Control List (ACLs), Aruba switching, wireless infrastructure, routing, switching, WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, 802.1X, monitoring, and network documentation. This is a must.
• Experience with vulnerability management, firewall governance, privileged access, endpoint protection, DLP, auditing, disaster recovery, data center operations, and risk management.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Cisco Security/Firewall, Aruba, Microsoft, Azure infrastructure, security, cloud, or equivalent demonstrated experience are preferred.
• Physically capable of lifting and handling network hardware and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds when required.
• Travel will be occasionally required.

• Strong documentation discipline, including configuration records, diagrams, change notes, incident notes, evidence packages, and repeatable procedures.
• Advanced troubleshooting ability using logs, packet captures, monitoring data, latency measurements, configuration review, and structured root-cause analysis.
• Collaborative working style with the ability to coordinate across local IS, corporate Honda teams, security teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple operational priorities while maintaining change control and risk awareness.
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify automation, AI, process standardization, and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Documentation, Compliance & Review Expectations
• Maintain current network diagrams, firewall rules, asset inventory, data inventory references, IP addressing information, monitoring documentation, escalation paths, and recovery procedures.
• Create clear documentation for operational handoff, audit support, incident response, change management, and recurring review activities.
• Participate in regular reviews of firewall rules, access rights, privileged access, vulnerability remediation, NAC exceptions, DR procedures, environmental alerts, and high-risk infrastructure changes.
• Protect confidential and sensitive information when using AI, automation, documentation, logs, and diagnostic data.
