Profound is the marketing platform for the AI era. As people increasingly turn to ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini to decide what to buy, we give brands the intelligence to see how AI represents them and the Agents to act on it. Today, ~13% of the Fortune 500, plus companies like Ramp, Figma, Chime, Calendly, and DocuSign, use Profound to turn AI Search from a black box into a measurable growth channel.
Backed by Lightspeed, Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, and Khosla Ventures at a $1B valuation, we're a lean, fast-moving team across NYC, SF, Buenos Aires, and London, shipping at a relentless pace and defining a new category at the biggest shift in marketing in 25 years. If you want to do the best work of your career at the frontier of AI, come build it with us.
Design is foundational to our product and our company. As a Motion Designer at Profound, you'll bring our brand, marketing, and product to life through motion. You'll work across the marketing, brand, and product teams to turn complex ideas into animations that are as polished as they are fast to ship, with deep ownership over how Profound moves.
What you'll do
Develop motion concepts end to end for marketing, brand, and product content, from concept development and storyboarding through final animation
Create animated brand assets such as logo reveals, title sequences, lower-thirds, transitions, and end cards
Produce short-form social animations and ad creatives, optimized for the formats and platforms each campaign requires
Bring the product to life through motion, including feature demos, UI animation, and product storytelling in partnership with the product team
Handle light video editing in support of your motion work, including timing adjustments, assembling provided footage, and basic sound sync
Prepare and deliver final exports in agreed formats, including source files where applicable
Partner closely with stakeholders across marketing, brand, and product to gather requirements, align on creative direction, and confirm delivery timelines
Who you are
You work with full autonomy and can take a brief and own it end to end, from concept to final delivery, without hand-holding. This is not a junior role
You have real command of animation and apply the core principles (timing, spacing, weight, anticipation, follow-through) with fluency and ease
You have a reel or portfolio that shows a high bar for craft across brand, social, and product motion
You're fluent in After Effects and comfortable working in Figma; bonus for tools like Rive, Lottie, Cinema 4D, and Premiere
You sweat the finish (typography, spacing, rhythm, and consistency) and know what makes motion feel effortless
You move fast and reliably deliver high-quality work on short timelines without sacrificing craft
You're a versatile generalist, equally comfortable on a sales-ready social cut and an in-product animation
You like to experiment with AI and new tools to work faster and push your craft further
You're a strong communicator who can articulate creative decisions and incorporate feedback to continuously improve the work
You can just do things
Note from our co-founder
In the evolving landscape of product development, exceptional design is not merely a nice-to-have, it is foundational. As software engineering becomes increasingly accessible, it is taste, creativity, and thoughtful execution that differentiate outstanding products from the rest.
I believe deeply that design sits at the core of our success. At Profound, my goal is to build a design team renowned for setting a new standard of excellence, crafting experiences so compelling they become benchmarks in our industry.
If you are someone who believes in the transformative power of great design and wants to create work that genuinely shapes the future, join us. Let's redefine what's possible together.
