Position: Wave Planner- 2nd Shift
Department: Distribution Center
Work Location: Arlington, TN
What you will be doing:
Ensures that all orders are planned and issued to the floor. Maintains the daily workflow of all orders that need to be shipped on a timely basis.
Key Outputs:
- Ensures products are available for orders.
- Sends orders to OTM.
- Allocates and prints labels for the floor.
- Backorders/cuts items from orders due to inventory issues.
- Communicates with Customer Service Representative group to ensure the planning orders for operations to pick in a timely manner.
- Communicates with Operations to maintain the scheduled work flow of orders and ensure orders are being processed in order and on time to meet shipping requirements.
- Runs EDI Operations to ensure that all orders that are to be shipped are allocated and given to Operations.
- Works with Traffic Department to verify that all orders that need to be planned have been sent to OTM.
- Responsible for the daily analysis and scheduling of all pending outbound orders (wave building).
- Reviews available asset and workforce capacity and slotting of forward pick faces in order to meet daily, weekly, and monthly distribution plan goals.
- Reviews and troubleshoots any exception orders.
- Resolves inventory imbalances/availability issues in order to meet daily distribution goals.
- Tests, reviews, and updates the order planning/waving, forward pick face slotting, reserve stock management system tools
- Facilitates the effective and efficient processing of all outbound customer orders.
- Coordinates and oversees the product slotting in all forward pick faces.
- Reviews current slotting of all pick facings in relation to the newest sales forecast.
- Communicates with supervisors and other key personnel between shifts, as well as, within a shift.
- Supports other departmental managers and supervisors, as needed.
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Able to derive and utilize mathematical models. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- General knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control practice. Knowledge of Edit Plus.
- Able to use good judgment whenever necessary to ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of operations.
- Data Entry; Typing WPM 37 words per minute
- Organizational Skills; Presentation Skills, Planner/Scheduler
- Document Control; Access, Excess, PowerPoint, Windows, Acrobat,
- Software; MATRIX, ORACLE, Java, WinZip
- Ability to help with process/logistics improvement efforts
- Ability to follow the safety rules and regulations as warranted by OSHA
- Ability to withstand warehouse settings (varying temperatures)
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
- Minimum Years of Experience Required: 1-2 years
- Experience Details: Experience in planning for Operations Management or Logistics/Supply Chain
- Must be able to work 40 hours a week, Mon-Fri.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time
