Job Description:

Department Overview:

TD Business Banking provides financial products and services to business customers and is comprised of the following businesses: Commercial Banking, Commercial National Accounts, Commercial Mortgage Group, National Real Estate Group, Agriculture Services and Small Business Banking.


Operating as a part of the Business Bank, the Small Business Credit Center is comprised of a team of Group Managers, Credit Analysts and Credit Managers focused on delivering timely credit decisions to our partners in the retail network right across the country. We strive to deliver first time right credit decisions, with a focus on growing market share while at the same time managing our risk appetite and regulatory framework. How we execute against that vision is to leverage our enterprise scale, process expertise, and lean disciplines to efficiently deliver capabilities while supporting our partners to effectively compete in the markets that they serve as a legendary One TD team.

As a Credit Manager your role is to adjudicate/underwrite credit applications for Small Business requests while continuing to develop excellent customer service skills and delivering a legendary customer experience to our partners.

  • Optimize credit opportunities by assisting partners in adjudicating, structuring, packaging and authorizing credits

  • Maintain good relationships with partners including responding to questions and concerns

  • Contribute to operational improvements to streamline procedures/processes and enhance service

  • Protect the interests of the Bank by ensuring credit is being adjudicated in accordance with assigned discretionary limits and established guidelines

  • Perform due diligence in support of all credit applications

  • Escalate with recommendation those credit applications that exceed discretionary limits and established guidelines

  • Strong credit acumen- Subject Matter Expert with knowledge of credit adjudication and analysis

  • Strong knowledge of various Adjudication platforms

  • Advanced knowledge of products, end-to-end processes and systems

  • Ability to identify and investigate non-standard operational / reporting / process issues

  • Moderate to High level of complexity in operational / reporting / process and/or analysis

  • Moderate to High credit limit authorization required for credit adjudication

  • Experience in adjudication of complex credit applications involving multiple step transactions/ processes/activities that may involve numerous systems and range in complexity from medium to high

  • Ability to identify and investigate non-standard operational/reporting/process issue

  • Ability to provide training to others on best practices, processes, etc. as well as guide mentor other team members for the completion of business

Job Requirements:

  • The successful applicant must have previous credit analysis experience, strong credit acumen and preferably has held credit limits.

  • Experience in an exception lending environment

Experience and Education:

  • 5+ Years relevant experience

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate
