This high visibility team is part of the Controller's organization and is responsible for leading the quarterly SEC Financial Reporting process as well as the maintenance of the Company's Financial Consolidation reporting system.The Principal Financial Analyst of SEC Reporting will report to the Manager of SEC Reporting. This position will require sitting onsite in Falls Church, Virginia.EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS include the following:Prepare information used for external reporting (Earnings Release, 10-Q, 10-K), including the preparation of XBRL taggingCollaborate with sector financial reporting teams and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and continuous improvement of the financial close processSupport manager(s) with ad hoc requests, including opportunities for cross functional collaboration within the organizationProvide financial accounting support for acquisitions, divestitures, and realignments, as assigned.Monitor existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting requirements, assessing the applicability to NorthropPrepare and submit certain quarterly and annual census reports and surveysThe ideal candidate will possess:Working knowledge of SEC rules and regulations and U.S. generally accepted accounting principlesStrong written and verbal communication skills with attention to grammar and dictionStrong research and analysis skills; able to clearly and concisely summarize impact of SEC reporting or financial accounting requirements on NorthropKey Attributes Include:Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environmentDetail oriented; delivers timely and accurate results under time sensitive conditionsHighly organized and able to handle multiple priorities at any given point in timeCollaborative; team playerAnalytical; makes recommendations using acquired data and cumulative experienceHigh-level of integrity to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentialityBe an active and agile learner; able to enhance personal, professional, and business growth through new knowledge and experiences; able to readily apply past experiences to new situations to generate solutions to organization challenges.
